Right now - nobody from the premiership side on the weekend. However a new preseason - those that perform will get rewarded with a game in the opening round. You'd expect the competition in the up coming preseason will be sky high. You do though get a sneaking suspicion he will be there.

We've totally skated by on it for a while with basically all our academy players being later picks. Earliest is technically Fletcher at pick 12, but he could have been F/S.

Annable next year is going to make people real, real mad.

Kane was going around in circles saying it's F/S and Academy picks to Brisbane meant St Kilda have no hope in winning a flag, then he said we turned our club around because we got Fagan? St Kilda could have gotten Fagan....but they didn't. He then said GWS should have beaten us if Daniels had not of played on....so therefore it wasn't because of our F/S and Academy players but GWS took a wrong option - Strange. No mention of playing the GF at the MCG. If we had to play St Kilda in the GF it would be a massive advantage to St Kilda.

Did he tee off on the NGA? Looks like they will get priority access to another handy one or two this year I see so no doubt he has some great ideas on making that "fair" as well.

But great work from the Saints anyway for ensuring Lennox Hofmann had a pathway to AFL in Victoria. Living in Switzerland for 6 months of his life was detrimental to his chances of finding his way through the poor AFL talent pathway in Victoria. An incredible story.

After teeing off against northern academies, the next two discussions were about players wanting to “go home” to W.A.

This whinge fest is going to be hard to listen to. Especially since we all know that eventually the AFL will nobble the northern feeder clubs.

St Kilda probably have the second strongest NGA zone after Essendon.

Going forward, we’re not going to be able to get everyone one of our academy kids.

Probably by as early as 2026, we’re probably going to have to start prioritising list needs over drafting best available academy kid each year.

We’re lucky that this is a particularly strong and deep draft, as in terms of pure quality, Marshall is up there with Fletcher, just a different type of player, but probably gets bid on 10 picks later, because of the depth of mids in this draft.

2025 looks pretty exciting with 2 x Ashcrofts and a Neale going through the middle.

Our ball movement changed a lot when he was injured, I have no doubt in my mind we win last year if he was playing. BUT I am pretty sure the Pies didn't have their best team out their either.
