AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Ive always had high hopes for Cumming, never reached the point where he was integral for us.Cumming is a good player but quite injury prone. If we can keep Perryman and Peatling as a result of him leaving it will be a pretty good outcome.
Maybe the Pies shouldn't have axed their netball club?
Houston remains on Victorian radars; Owies waits on Blues

Giant moves loom as Cumming tells GWS he wants out
Giants’ unrestricted free agent Isaac Cumming has told the club he wants to return to South Australia as Collingwood come hard to convince his teammate Harry Perryman to join them.
However, unrestricted free agent Perryman’s decision could impact what Cumming does, according to a source familiar with negotiations.
The Power remain favourites for Perryman’s signature despite both the Magpies and Hawthorn also being interested. Collingwood recently upped their offer for Perryman after failing to convince Adelaide’s Irish defender Mark Keane to join the club.
What a player he was at his peak. I'm glad he's been able to extend his career a little longer.Fellow Giant Nick Haynes has also been linked with a free agency move to Carlton.
Yes, happy for him and best wishes with his new club. Sad however to still see one of our inaugural Giants go, and now there are just 4 left - Toby, Cogs, Ward and Kennedy. What a player he was at his peak. I'm glad he's been able to extend his career a little longer.
Wade Derksen has advised the club of his desire to be traded to a Victorian club.

I thought Fahey’s contract expired at the end of 2025?THE OTHERS
Elsewhere, foundation Giant Adam Kennedy, oft-injured ruckman Braydon Preuss, eight-game onballer Cooper Hamilton and 2021 Academy graduate Josh Fahey all remain without contracts for the 2025 season. With exit meetings forthcoming, they face nervous waits. Kennedy and Preuss — who both failed to get on the park this year — seem the biggest outsiders in terms of earning new deals. Hamilton seems in limbo, while Fahey appears the most likely of this crop to have their stays extended, having shown flashes at reserves level.
Yes. Drafted in National Draft 2021, and signed a 2-year extension (on top of an initial 2-year draft contract) so has to be end of 2025.I thought Fahey’s contract expired at the end of 2025?

IMO he’s just waiting for Ports season to finish before announcing.Interesting news about Harry’s exit interview. Sounds to me like he’s giving the club a chance to up their offer now that Isaac is going.
Maybe, but he still could have mentioned he wanted a trade today without specifying a club.IMO he’s just waiting for Ports season to finish before announcing.
It would be a travesty if we can't keep two NSW origin players.Official from the club - Cumming will leave us, but nothing about about Perryman and Peatling who have also had their end of year interviews - bodes well for us retaining the latter two
Cumming to Depart GIANTS
Isaac Cumming has informed the club of his decision to explore his options as an unrestricted free agent.www.gwsgiants.com.au
Agree, believe he is genuinely undecidedMaybe, but he still could have mentioned he wanted a trade today without specifying a club.
I would agree, but who would you be targeting? Our 2025 list is changing by the day......
Not liking the look of this.
It's not as if these players are lacking the opportunity to play at the top level.
As mentioned earlier, the Giants didn't use a great deal of players this year.
An indication that perhaps many players in VFL weren't ready for the upgrade.
Losing all 3 will obviously make that situation worse for first grade with even more inexperienced players possibly being needed to make the step up.
The club MUST be active this trade season.
