They really are pigs to deal with. If it’s not a straight 2nd rounder then seriously start talking to other teams or send to draft.
Essendon have plenty of picks from Melbourne, far more than needed to match Kako. Perhaps if they overpay for peatling , we can agree to live trade them 37 for a F3 after kako is bid on.

I just think we treat the Peatling deal as an independent transaction, the Stringer deal as a transaction and protect assets.

We need that pick in the 30’s, it’s a valuable pick and we may also need it for Smith.

Round 2 for Peatling is fair. The picks we have offered for Stringer are fair, he is not wanted by his club. Crows have already taken a required player and weakened us for next year, there should be some good will.

This doesn’t need to be complicated. If Crows want to be bandits then let them take their chances in draft. This is the BS of clubs not being able to trade players, it just weakens the weaker clubs further.

12:55PM - VETERAN DEE, WANTAWAY GIANTUPDATE

Melbourne list boss Tim Lamb has provided an update on the out-of-contract Adam Tomlinson, as the two-club defender continues his search for a new home. Out of contract after five seasons at the Demons, the 31-year-old has failed to lock down a spot in the starting 22 of Simon Goodwin’s side - stuck behind the likes of Steven May and Jake Lever. Asked for an update on Tomlinson’s status, Lamb was coy on what was next for both him and the club.

“We’ll just get through this period and see where the cards will fall, and then we’ll take a call on that,” Lamb told AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday afternoon. “If he can get an opportunity somewhere else, we’re really hopeful that can happen for him.”

Lamb also provided an update on the status of uncapped Giant Wade Derksen, who last month requested a trade to play under Simon Goodwin in 2025. “To be honest I think that’s looking fairly unlikely,” Lamb revealed. “We’ve thrown a fair few scenarios at the Giants, and they’ve been totally resolute. We’d like to bring Wade to the club, but again, I think the way things are tracking that’s going to be difficult for us to sort out.”

Dealing with Adelaide is always hard. They want players they value...but then don't want to pay any value to get them.
'in good faith' meaning....not that.
Such a shame we can't trade him elsewhere
