Both Whitlocks are around our selections 16/21
If we can pick up a nice mid with 15 potentially we could go the brother combo?
Not sure if we need more height just year but could set us up for life after Hogan.

We've lost 5 medium-sized players and 2 talls (but gained one back) during the trade period. We will presumably grab Logan Smith, so for me grabbing both Whitlocks would be ignoring our needs in the medium/midfield ranks.

Had it been 2 years ago, I probably would have said yes to grabbing the twins rather than taking Gru (probably could have done them at the Gruszewski & McMullin picks) although I would not have said both positions were must-fill.

Personally, we could go 1 tall (other than Smith). If you judge Keeffe as a forward, I'd take a KPD to develop (especially with the risk of losing Leek Aleer and Wade Derksen next year). If you judge Keeffe as a KPD, then there would be a forward spot ... although less of a need in my opinion.

(The problem with talls is if they are all fit, it's hard to fit them into the AFL and VFL sides. But if we lose some to injury, they're worth their weight in gold.)

Yeah injury or trade.
Keefe surely doesn't go around after next year. And I'm slightly worried about Leek being tempted by a godfather offer. We also know Derksen has interest from melb.
All of a sudden we could be stretched.
While I feel like with Fonti, Leake, Rowston, Gothard and Jones we are pretty covered for pace and zip.
I reckon it's not a terrible move if a player like Lindsay at 15.

I wouldn't be going overly hard on talls.
Maybe 1 in our 3 early picks at most.
I'd be looking at mids and medium size players.
The mock that had us with Lindsay, Taj and Harry Oliver was a dream come true for me.

apologies in advance as i am sure the answer is in the thread but how many list spots are available? 3-5 on the main list and 2 rookies? Depending on how they want to run the list

The best example of this is Darcy Fort. Brisbane has 2 first class ruckman. One got them to the Grand Final. The other got them a Premiership.
Pruess has been delisted , and no experience has come in. I don't like it.

Keefe is a ruckman at AFL level. I think we only played him ahead of Riccardi in the finals due to concerns about Briggs lasting every game he played.
Did Briggs get Surgery, or was rest enough to get his shoulder 100%?

I like it a lot. We still tend to lose too many after the home factor plays out. But with two brothers playing together, both from country rather than metro it would have to help to keep them. In three years plus minus Hogan and others it would be a good spine of Cadman, Whitlock, Whitlock, Taylor etc. If Gold Coast had taken both Kings rather than one plus Rankine and Lukosius me thinks they would look better down the middle. Lindsay also from the country might help as keepers.

My opinion only; he's not good enough.
Sometimes the ruck role gets underrated.
I thought that the 2023 best coach gong that Kingslaey got was on the back of the wholly unexpected massive improvement of Briggsy. Top notch ruckman carry the team on their shoulders. Is Keefe top-notch?

Any updates on possible DFAs being added to the rookie list from Friday?

Ben Paton is a possibility mentioned in the media as a depth player.
No. All being held close hold.

I would not be surprised if we just waited until after the ND, and either picked someone up in the rookie draft, or held until the PSSP.

We are at 34 & 2, so technically 2 to 4 main list and 4 to 2 rookie list. However, the "3 ND selection" requirement makes it practically 3 to 4 main list and 3 to 2 rookie list.

They are very positive about Madden

Perhaps better to say he is closest to AFL standard as a ruckman, not really there as a forward clearly.
