Don't really have the list spots for another DFA anyway. Only way it happens:
1. Combine our two picks into one higher pick (or trade one out to next year).
2. Promote two rookies instead of one at the draft
3. Just take the one draft pick

For that to happen, we'd want to do the pick trade prior to the draft, because we wouldn't want to get stuck being forced to trade a decent pick for potentially a poor return. And pick trading finishes tomorrow (as does DFA listing). So we'll know in the next 24 hours if something like this will happen.

Im thinking Charlie Curnow on ball. Allowing TDK and Harry to roam.

I have always advocated for Charlie having some time around the midfield. Watch him at training and when he plays around the ball he is devastating. Prior to his knee issues we were looking at him having midfield minutes. I reckon he should have some now. Not major minutes but the ability to break up the mix will really help us.

I look at the damage players like Zurhaar, Stringer can have and they don't have the engine Charlie does. Look how good he is when he goes back to help. He is an athletic beast more than a natural forward. He is the closest thing to Kouta I have ever seen

We also need more goalkickers up forward. Good sides aren't reliable on 1 or 2 players. Hopefully Martin Silvagni Fanatsia Motlop Durdin Hollands can really add to our mix.

The other one is McGovern. Now finally fit, if Marchbank S.Durdin & Kemp can stand up in defence, he is a genuine option up forward.

Be very interesting to see what Voss does because as good as we were this year we weren't good enough. Fact

Going to be a hard slog if the Carlton game plan is" Charlie good Carlton good Charlie not good Carlton not good" - no accident Voss looked to bolster 'not Charlie forward' depth and improve the forward line 'not Charlie' players.

Putting all the onus and expecting ONE player to beat a whole defense from other top sides or criticizing them for not doing maybe not so realistic- the other five forwards have to (at least) offer alternative options - at least..

the HFF/small forward areas ar Carlton's works in progress...maybe the addition of Fantasia and Hollands sees this area improve- maybe a dedicated forward line coach does as well...

but if the Club is in teh business of being a genuine contender - there will be no room for underperforming 'older players' or older players who aren't outperforming their finals quality opponents...

big year for Martin/Cuningham/Owies I suspect...

Agree. What is also important is having a group of forwards that truly worry an opposition. In the finals the opposition just sat on Charlie and we struggled.

The Pies have multiple options and share it.

Coleman Mediallists don't win flags in the same year and that should be our target

It's about options and how we share it inside 50. Surely now with Charlie McKay Silvagni Fantasia Hollands Motlop Martin Docherty TDK we can worry anyone?

Anyone know what happened with Jacob Edwards at North?

Picked at No.1 in mid season draft 18 months ago and now delisted

At 19 he looked awesome. 196cm ruck forward with all the tools

I would be interested to know where he sits and why delisted. Had the ability to be a gun

It was injuries in 2022, banged up and cooked in '23...the best 2 performing teams played off in this years Granny, and they deserved it.
We did very well just to get close, don't need to win the flag to consider it a successful and rewarding season.

Don’t bring my Granny into this!

Can’t say I know what happened, but very underwhelming in a couple of VFL games I saw. Was playing back in one. I have a feeling it was similar to some of their other talls in recent times. Not the least being Sam Durdin. Roles were flicked in a whim, or to make room for other players. Durdin was constantly flicked forward and back (as was Ben McKay for a couple of years) Xerri, Coleman-Jones, Comben, Edwards and a couple of others in recent years.

Now they are talking about playing Comben back following the McKay exit. So far, Clarko has nit done much for their tall structures. They are lucky Larkey is a gun.

Playing local league with his brother, comment of trying to get some fun back in his footy.

Didn’t see any big games at VFL level, maybe just not cut out for the real hunger to play AFL. Need to be v.competitive as a big fella.
