Is he really? I've seen that claim on here quite often. But I've seen much to contradict it too.

Yes, he'll occasionally pull out a pearler, just not on a consistent basis.

Name me a player in the comp that has never had a horrible kick? I think we judge him harshly because we put the microscope on every single disposal these guys take

It'll be interesting who we delist this year. Not a heap of options.

Mirkov and Durdin are gone. They are the obvious ones. Akuie too but doesnt really count due to Cat B. Then it gets tough.

Cunners, Martin, Marchbank will be interesting calls. I doubt we cut all. Depends how many spots we need but you'd think at least 1 goes.

Hudson O'Keefe maybe. I dont see him making it but would be tough cutting a young ruck after 2 years.

Carroll I'd like to keep for mid depth but could see him going elsewhere for opportunitty.

Then pretty much everyone else is under contract.

Durdin should have been borderline but we re-signed him for 2 years for some reason.

Young a trade option but provides depth in a couple of spots. Could pay Lemmey out early but would be similar to O'Keefe.

You'd think we need 4-5 spots.
Highly unlikely Hudson Okeefe would be cut, looks to have definite potential, unlucky with a long term hamstring.

Agree that Mirkov will go, l think a good chance Marchbank will go to the rookie list, still too many injury prone players on the list.

I think they’ll delist rookie Carroll.

Busslingers numbers at VFL look very solid for a youngster. Top end draft talent so there must be something there to work with. Bevo pretty handy at getting kids off side if they don't fit his 'mould'.
KPD size and strong intercept mark. They maybe just gently simmering him in the 2s and all's well but he would be an ideal target if not getting a run at the dogs. Impossible to know what situation is but would be ideal

not worth his salary or draft picks for us (800+ and a good first round pick).
Smith?

His type is exactly what our midfield needs, aggression and speed…

A midfield of Cripps, Walsh, TDK, Cerra, Smith and Elijah would be insane…

$800k is a good deal, with the upcoming cap increases…

If our cap is that bad, that we can’t afford a decent player… It’s up to the players to make sacrifices like Geelong, Richmond, Hawthorn and Collingwood did…

Could be traded back to WA. Has been quite disappointing for mine. Hasn't come as his trajectory looked. His disposal is quite poor and doesn't get enough of it to be damaging. Shows some traits but we have seen a few of these types. They rarely really kick on. Think Dow, Setters, SPS, LOB. I would pit him in that category.

I think they're referring to Matthew Carroll not Jack Carroll.

Would prefer LDU if we could get him next year. Probably similar money and closer to what we need. Explodes out of stoppage more and a better user then Smith. Plus, a free agent.

A fair bit to unravel there.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if we choose to go with the single ruck, and TDK the preferred option going forward. If big Pitto ends up running around in the magoos week after week, you'd imagine he'll start exploring his options. If a club comes a knocking that would guarantee regular game time, you could easily see him looking to move on. Dogs would be a great fit if English moves on, but that's looking fairly unlikely right now. Cats would also be a good fit. Maybe even the Cows with O'Brien on the outer.

Moyle is the obvious successor to big Witts, who's just signed a contract extension, but may well become the back up as father time catches up. You'd imagine that Read will become more a forward/ruck for them. Can't see Moyle going though.

Either way, I agree that you'd target GCS, especially with all of the academy talent they're bringing in at the top end. And they're getting another two potential 1st rounders again this year - Leo Lombard and Zeke Uwland. There'll be some talent getting pushed back to the VFL - someone like a Joel Jeffery or Malcolm Rosas should definitely be on our radar.
Slight correction Zeke Uwland will be a gun, but he is next year’s draft, not this year. Their academy is getting scary.

you missed the bit i also mentioned an early draft pick, which we don't have

FWIW though i don't think he's a particularly good kick, or fast.

Do we have enough accountability with that mix? Not saying Smith wouldn't be a great get, but we also don't want to be one-way runners like Port.

So from a draft point of view you’d think we’d keep our first (17/18 ish) then take both Campo boys no need to take anymore after that if we go that way.

From a trade point of view would love to bring in a Zurhaar/LDU.Could also do with a CHB who’s not injury prone.

Not sure what we do with Carrol.

From a delist point of view I think most supporters agree on who they might be:
Marchbank/Martin/Cunners/SDurdin as a minimum.

Just spitballing.

Zero chance Martin is delisted.

Marchbank also unlikely

GC have a lot of AFL listed players playing VFL. There must be some more Elijah Hollandses in there.

Can't believe he wasn't getting a regular game in that rabble of a GC team last year. Rosas looks like a good player. Haven't seen much of Jeffery.

Will Moyle wait patiently for Witts to drop off if he gets offers elsewhere? I doubt it.

Agree - a lot to play out in the Pitto situation.

Depending on how other clubs rate this draft, Martin could be floated for a pick upgrade. Freo will likely have three picks in the teens (theirs, Port's and Collingwood's) - would expect they'd probably try to move up the board with some of those, but could they be tempted to downgrade one to our first if they also get Martin in the deal?

Say they turn 14, 15 and 16 into 8, 20 and Martin, that's probably not a bad outcome for a side that genuinely fancy themselves a premiership chance in the next few years, but also want to keep bringing in talented kids. Opportunity looks like it could be there too, Brissy and GC both with picks around the 7-9 mark the way things are tracking, and both have highly rated Father-Son/ Academy picks this year.

If Martin gets us from 20 to 15 (hopefully ensuring the pick can be used before a Campo bid), and frees up some cap space to target a free agent this year or next (by front ending a contract or two), that's probably the best we can hope for from an oft-injured, almost 30yo player. Not overly enamoured by this year's free agents, but we could set ourselves up with cap space to chase a Ballard or Collins via free agency next year. Values him around a late third, which I think is the most we could get for him, but the actual benefit we get outweighs the arbitrary draft pick value.

Mid week tackle reporting that many clubs are confident that Tyson Stengle is gettable at $800k per season. Stkilda and * at the head of the queue but others watching.

The ball would never get to him if he played for them.

I wouldn't get rid of all our injury-prone players.

Would delist Marchy and Cunners as their roles can be covered... bur more inclined to keep Martin.

Martin adds an important component to our F50 that no other player on the list can. Good in the air, on the ground and hard at it.

Plus we need that extra aerial threat up forward whenever Harry relieves in the ruck. I'd like to keep him, at least till Moir is ready.
