Player for player trades never happen. If anything we would require a pick/s to be sent back the other way for Carroll and for West Coast to cover some $$$ for Ryan existing contracted. Would essential be a salary dump for them.
Yes definitely other machinations as straight player for player swaps rarely happen but heard that would be the bones of it.

It’s definitely not a salary dump. We’re going to struggle hugely to hit the minimum 95% cap spend next year.

JSOS needs to be turned in a backman IMO. Might be too slow, but it's worth a go. I don't think he fits in to our tall forwardline. Think he could end up becoming a really great backman and it could save his career. If Rory Lobb can do it, JSOS can.

I think he can be that more modern mobile KPD. He's as tall as Collins or McCartin. Not 200cm but can play tall and won't give a forward a rest. Defensively would be great and would work well with Weitering

🤔

For what it's worth and should be taken with a grain of salt but told Carroll definitely off to the Eagles and we're interested in Liam Ryan.

Secondary to that was also told other than Carroll and Martin there is likely to be at least one other moved on, they seem to think the club is targetting someone. Source WA based and involved in player management.

Cerra definitely gettable for the right price I'm told.

Take your Carlton glasses off

Have heard Ryan for Jack carroll

Which club would give up this year's 1st in a strong draft?
Richmond, as explained by the others, but it seems Gold Coast might as well.
Currently have 6, 13, 20, (and then 2 x 2nds, 3rd, 4th currently enough points to match a bid for Lombard at #4).

According to a good poster on another board their 3 main objectives for this year are Daniel Rioli, matching Lombard, getting future points.

Will be interesting to see where JSOS fits into plans next year - will he play second ruck to TDK and Pitto misses out / will we play two rucks and JSOS is a permanent forward / will JSOS be trialled down back / will he be VFL depth.
He will Captain VFL most of the season very unlikely he will be offered a contact in 2026 seeing who is coming off contact. We would be in deep shit if we relying on him to fix our issues.

What "condition" was he in? I watched him during pre season and he looked awesome. Sadly, another Hammy cruelled him and like others with same issue he never really recovered
Battled turf toe firstly for a while, then back to back hamstrings which from memory cost him a couple of months…
Was certainly looking great preseason, running and covering the ground between contests to improve his impact was really encouraging…

Rory Lobb is 207cm give it up on JSOS that a wet dream becoming a really great backman and you know Voss will have nothing of it he either play as a 3rd tall Brad Fisher type helping at Ruck or the the Two

PommyinOz has done an in depth view into our trading options for this year on youtube, what we can and can't do and to loosely quote him, "if you think your player is ordinary, other clubs will think he is ordinary, so don't expect a magical pick for him if you trade him"

For a guy who didn't grow up on the game, he understands the intricacies better than most
