Dissapointed we couldn't get ANYTHING for Martin. Would have liked Freo to give us a Future 3rd or something token. But alas.
Agreed but the list management sphere is pretty tight nit across clubs and they all largely know what each other are up to so I suspect this means there’s no real market for Martin.

Loved Cunners but unfortunately just couldn't get his body right, and we can no longer afford to carry too many of those types of injury prone players as this year has shown. As for Marchbank and Martin, their bodies are clearly cooked as well, let someone else have that headache.

STILL amazed Owies hasn't been resigned, if we keep Fantasia into 2025 over Owies I will spit chips.

Not if we get pick 30 for owies and Konstanty & use 30 on a 150 game KPD.

S Durdin, Fantasia, M Carrol need to go.
Pressure Austin to punt on the draft. I would rather cut hard than be conservative. If the right trade deal comes for Owies, Kemp and motlop take it. Mcmahon, Rosa and Konstanty can compensate
Agree, list management must more assertive and diligent, its long overdue. Hope Austin has the support and courage to be thorough.

So Matt Carroll and Sam Durdin survive for now. Might depend on who we think we can get in the trade period.

Don't think Haynes would be linked to Durdin, different roles. Maybe Aleer.

Also Matt Carroll is still only 18. Would at least give him 1 more year do show something in the VFL.

Pretty sure the clubs have had the speed dating session and most likely there was no interest in giving anything up for Martin, who teams knew was no longer required at Carlton, so it is the right thing to just let the player go.

We've been banging on for years, we have kept these injury prone player's on our list for far too long. They've contributed to derailing our season, year after year. This year was finally the year where enough was enough.

It's about time we stopped keeping these guy's on because we're being nice, we should only care about the interests of the football club, no individual/s are bigger.

Fantasia has a contract does he not?

Would also be less expensive you would think.

Obviously if it’s purely Owies vs Fantasia you take Owies but if he’s commanding a big pay rise and Fantasia already has a contract then it’s not quite that simple

I’m not liking the Dan Houston talk it almost seems inevitable he will nominate us. Our list management team since Austin has taken over seems to have an unhealthy obsession with expensive half back flankers.

Williams $850k for 6 years ridiculous contract maybe the worst contract in Carlton’s history.

Saad is a star but came on a big contract and played upto that contract however not many other sides would have coughed up a top 10 pick for him.

Houston probably costs a first round pick with a possible downgrade of other picks I just can’t understand the logic.

The irony is all 3 of these players were picked up originally via the rookie draft which shows good half back flankers can be found late in drafts.

If we are looking to trade our future first for Houston I would much rather trade it into this draft and recruit travaglia and Lindsay if we see halfbacks who are good kicks as a need I would argue both those players will go past Houston as a footballer within 3 years anyway and without the $800k price tag.

With Fanta contracted for one more year. Doubt very much, if they would decide to pay him out.

He played a role this season, certainly did not play up to his former standards. However, has endured a lot of injuries.

More an indictment on our other small forwards, that he still found himself in the side.

We desperately need Rosas and Konstanty to bolster this area imo.

Can tell you that was not the message coming out of exit meetings but it is what it is.
Whatever the message was, his information was closer to the mark than what you'd heard, apparently. Maybe that message was for the 2 that haven't yet been delisted rather than the broader list.

No, to keeping Matt Carroll. If their is one lesson that we have to learn from 24, it is injury prone players cannot be kept on

the list. Matt will have to go, unfortunately.

Matt Carol is only a rookie. An unknown player. I think we need to keep him for at least 1 more year.

We have only delisted 3 senior spots. So if we are getting Campo X 2 and pick 11. Then we need to lose others. This is where Owies and Carrol come in i guess.

Pity we cant get rid of Fantasia too.

I'd be OK with a first rounder for Houston. The bloke is an absolute A-Grader and his foot skills are up there with the best in the comp. It's something we sadly lack off the half back line.

Granted we're getting Doch back next year, but doubt he'll play back of the wing much.

I'm with the others...if Fantasia and Durdin stay at the club ahead of Owies, they must have photos. And just on a slightly different note, I really disliked the vision of Motlop's effort last week. He's nowhere near desperate enough. Just jogs to and around so many contests...compare that to the top liners, he's miles off it.
