Young being told to move on would suggest we’ve got a decent KPD stitched up. Juicy. Please be L. Aleer.
Intriguing isn't it, who else apart from Aleer, no one else stands out that isn't a regular

Absolutely no way on E. Himmelberg. I’ve seen him play plenty here in SA and he’s worse than Young. He’ll show one flashy play where you’re like ok there’s a player there but then he goes back to being putrid 99% of the time. The only way I’d accept that is if he comes across on significantly less than Young to save cap space or if it’s to replace S. Durdin who can never get on the park.
Only watched his Crows games, seems to have more aggression than Young, could he be a viable KPD?

Kennedy going would mean that Carroll has to stay otherwise we cop a big hit to our depth. He’s a dependable and reasonably versatile best 22 player so you’d hope they have something lined up there too.

Kennedy has more versatility than our other inside mids, can't really get my head around losing him. Perhaps he offers more value than the others

Again, don’t mind it as a rotation option but definitely want to use him mostly off half back.

Yep. Play an AA where he’s actually proven to be an AA. As a midfielder, Houston just dump kicks the ball and it takes away his main asset. Rotations on the wing would be fine but if he comes across 90% half back please.

Ok.
I’ll have to put it nicely.

Voss can’t afford to have Kennedy remain as a reminder of his poor selection and coaching.

He may have had Kennedy pegged for the door anyway but he’ll be desperate to have him gone now.

A very robust discussion was had between the pair, body language was mentioned.

Per Your list the players are mostly either keys or low salaries Houston is 28, high salary, a Half back and pick 11 is a likely 10 year player in a deep draft. Keep the pick. Thouy was pick 16 and was 2 or 3 years younger in a crap draft.
Micheal, Touhy was 27 turning 28 in his first season with Geelong a whopping 6 months younger than what Houston would be.

My list is mostly keys or low salaries? Which one is it? I listed 7 players, four of them aren’t key position players, so they’re mostly not keys.

As for low salaries, do you think danger is on a low salary? Cameron on $900,000 is low?

I’m doubtful that Geelong targeted these guys, paid for them using 1st round picks and then paid them peanuts.

I absolutely love MK. He’s an old fashion footballer who plays more than position.

But I can absolutely see a world where he and the club shake hands and move on.

We have too many one paced mids. If we don’t make moves this off season our window will be shut before it opens

Yep the market of available KPD is paper thin and practically all clubs want them. Aleer makes the most sense given his role in the team and being behind a log jam of great defenders. The only other I’ve heard outside of Haynes is Laverde..but pass for mine. Obviously SDK would be an amazing get but very unrealistic.

Himmelberg does have a bit more aggression than Young but it’s often erratic and clumsy. I’m just not sure he really has what’s required to be an AFL level player. The biggest issue is he seems to play with low footy IQ. One of those guys who retains a spot based on athleticism. As a defender I’d take Young between those two. As a swingman, especially as a ruck chop out I’d lean Himmelberg.

Kennedy is genuinely our most versatile mid. I think it has to be that of the ones we’d be comfortable moving on, he has more currency and demand (and possibly to free up cap). Hewett, whilst also not quick, is more defensively minded at stoppages which is needed when we have offensively minded mids. I wouldn’t move Kennedy on personally unless we can actually strengthen the team by doing so which I don’t see happening without hurting our midfield depth.

Incorrect. Berry, Travaglia, Lindsay project better than Hollands at pick 11.
And history will tell you that one of those guys is probably a bust and hopefully one of the other two is a gun.

How were Dow, SPS, Obrien, Cunningham, Stocker, Philp projecting?

All first round picks wasted. It’s still very much a lottery

Haynes is 1.92. A perfect height. It is about the same height as Stephen May

Height isn’t everything.

Haynes doesn’t play as a KPD. He’s more your intercepting type, which he was absolutely a jet at a few years ago. He’d more be the Marchbank replacement. If Young goes and we’re replacing him with Haynes we are in a world of trouble.

I think we’ve seen enough now to know that we structurally look better with Weitering, another genuine body on body tall, and Gov as the interceptor. When it’s Weitering and two interceptors (Marchy & Gov or now potentially Haynes & Gov) we get exposed as teams draw Weiters up the ground and then create matchup issues. We either get slaughtered for height in that case or defensive intelligence.

Don’t think it’s TPP at all

I think they are trying to re-generate the list and use some currency to trade/draft for our needs….inside midfield bulls seems to be a spot we are well covered in.

Young is an interesting one…we don’t have the cover if we trade him without bringing in 2-3 KPDs
