If we don't get pickett this is a big L. Can't Have Walters,Delean and Emmett as our smalls next year.

Pickett must be in play otherwise we would've signed Emmett already

Well good thing they won't be our smalls when we have Bolton, Freddy, Switta. I expect more forward time from Serong (switching with Bolton). Simpson should improve. Walters can still fill in from time to time. We'll probably draft someone like Berry or Hannaford, who will be immediately ahead of Delean.

Hard to get Pickett if Melbourne refuse to trade him.

And that is why I'm worried about Wallsy being in charge of the list profile. Threw everything at Logan to get him over and then did the same for Baker.
Don’t think they threw everything at baker. Everyone knew he wasn’t coming. He’s probably being smart by saying we will give them pick 10… make WCE pay more

Did the same with Kelly back in the day

Brayshaw and Serong met with him multiple times. Freo wouldn't have offered the $$ if they weren't interested. No Freo offer means Baker nominates from day one.

I really don't like this argument. Yes Warner kicks goals but Pickett kicks more because he is a small forward, a position that is our biggest list hole. We don't need more goals from the midfield, we need more from our small forwards.
How's about something as tangible as Warner comes out of contract at the end of next year, while Pickett's got about 3 more years to go on a pretty freshly signed deal.

He’s Walters replacement
The other guys previously mentioned weren't in our first choice forward line anyway.

We played eight forwards most of the season and will be adding Bolton. More than hopeful Simpson can be useful next year too but don't see him as a forward pocket - HFF that rotates mid is probably his role more realistically.

We should be playing seven forwards, getting an extra young mid into the team and rotating mids forward with Switta and Bolton also contributing the other way.

... Based on? Da feels?
So you can honestly say watching last year (bulldogs game aside) that we wasn't a liability? Zero pressure, constantly exposed defensively. As soon as the ball leaves contested situations its game over for him.

If you genuinely think he still has "juice" to propel this team forward next year you are kidding yourself
