Not seeing the worth of baker this game, missed an easy shot on goal then took his frustration out by trying to take someone’s head off.

A west coast F1 for Erasmus?I can absolutely see them offering him $600k for 5 years. That isn’t that much under the new cap and they have no one else to spend it on. Gaff leaving alone probably frees up that cap space, he’d be great for them with Ginby on the inside. Let’s trade for their F1 because they’ll expect to bounce up the ladder any year now!
He is the highest rated player on the ground! The duality of man
The knock on him that many on this board (fairly understandably) had was he's too jack of all trades master of none, and thus doesn't provide sufficient value for money. The career stats don't look amazing because I don't think he's had a season where he's played just the 1 position. But if these past few games are an indicator of what he is when playing a more attacking role, he's a player and a half with real scoreboard impact.Baker playing another good game
2 goals halfway through the third, helping the tigers stick around
He had a very good 3rd quarter! The duality of man

Like I said, he had a very good third quarter (after I made that comment) I still don’t think he’s what we need........never go full nuffie mode
Macca hits the scoreboard consistently and accurately which you can't teach. There's value in that. The problem lies with the fact that these goals are mostly uncontested (from what I can tell from when I've watched him). I don't see him as particularly strong and he has yet to show defecent defensive pressure/contested marking. This is why I get the impression that he's a weak key forward and weak key forwards are liabilities during finals time. Again, I will wait until the end of this season before making a judgement on him but these are my initial impressions.McDonald on the other hand I am pretty sure is ordinary. I can't remember a guy who offers so little yet somehow averages 2 goals per game. I don't think he gets all those cheap ones playing for us. He'd have to improve a lot for me to tick that one off. Seriously, I have no idea what his standout traits are.

Agree, Treacy offers more at this point and he’s already here. A dynamite small (Motlop would have been nice), Baker and Sam Taylor thanks.Just to clarify, I was in the position of thinking Baker would clearly be B22, but not worth the coin.
I would far rather take the chance on Baker than McDonald as the latter has massive flop potential and its hard to see how he makes us better with the way he plays.
Yes, I would play Baker as a high half forward and draft the best small/medium forward we can get to replace Walters and/or a classy outside mid.Agree, Treacy offers more at this point and he’s already here. A dynamite small (Motlop would have been nice), Baker and Sam Taylor thanks.
Where do you see Simpson playing when he gets a shot, I feel like he’d be the one missing out if we bring in Baker.Yes, I would play Baker as a high half forward and draft the best small/medium forward we can get to replace Walters and/or a classy outside mid.
I think when it comes to bringing in proven good players, we need to move away from thinking “but where does this promising kid play.” Geelong don’t play the kids immediately and it works ok for them. I’m as big on Simpson as anyone but it will up to him to force his way in or wait for an injuryWhere do you see Simpson playing when he gets a shot, I feel like he’d be the one missing out if we bring in Baker.
Similar role and transitioning to maybe a 50-50 split eventually.Where do you see Simpson playing when he gets a shot, I feel like he’d be the one missing out if we bring in Baker.
Baker is a genuine swing man in the mould of Aish. Can play anywhere, and is also bloody handy on a wing, in defence, or even in the middle. If Simpson is a gun forward, he will play for the Dockers and not necessarily be competing with Baker.Where do you see Simpson playing when he gets a shot, I feel like he’d be the one missing out if we bring in Baker.

Agreed. McDonald should be having a massive year with Buddy gone, but so far it's been quiet. Lots of cheap goals, but nothing outstanding worth throwing picks at.I think Baker would do a LOT better than Emmett is as the HHF. Surprisingly strong hands for a small dude.

If Amiss were playing for the swans instead of McDonald, I dare say he’d be on the end of a lot more.Agreed. McDonald should be having a massive year with Buddy gone, but so far it's been quiet. Lots of cheap goals, but nothing outstanding worth throwing picks at.
But, to be fair, this Swans team has so many goal kicking midfielders and that goal kicking back-flanker, Blakely. Logan's leads don't seem to get honoured enough. Maybe his fault. Maybe not.
