Amiss is in another realm. Glad we don't need to trade picks to get him in. Because that is exactly what we would be doing now if we didn't draft him. And he'd be really expensive. Coupla firsts easy.
Going by pure stats? But did you watch those games. McDonald has been on the end of a lot of favourable umpire calls and cheap over the back goals. Amiss has earnt his. Contested marks and longer range goals with impressive efficiency.Interesting. McDonald’s first 4 weeks are superior
If Macca can play backup ruck it would make me less hesitant.Going by pure stats? But did you watch those games. McDonald has been on the end of a lot of favourable umpire calls and cheap over the back goals. Amiss has earnt his. Contested marks and longer range goals with impressive efficiency.
I'm still keen on McDonald. He has a massive tank and a good goal sense, but he isn’t showing an elite traits so far.
Dogga has that covered though? If Macca can play backup ruck it would make me less hesitant.

You're being disingenuous. Not all, but a fair few. And yes, his huge tank gets him in position for those over the back cheapies. And that's fine. He is a different kind of forward to Amiss. And he would be an asset to our team. Just not a bend us over kind of trade asset IMO.Apart from today, I’ve watched all of them.
Guy has kicked 9 goals, taken 8 more marks…apparently all cheapies, and the ball just drops in his lap.

He’s had an extra game.
I argue that a guy getting 19 marks in 4 games and kicking 9 goals is going all right…You can argue over whether getting in position for cheapies is meritorious, but you can't argue the fact that the majority of Logan's goals have come from getting out the back.
My default for KPPs is usually that they take time and can explode out of nowhere having seemingly looked useless, but McDonald is so timid I don't know how he can do that. You need to impose yourself as a KPF and he doesn't seem to have it in him on exposed form.
I asked my Richmond supporting neighbour what he thought about Liam Baker and he said Baker is one of the most admired Richmond players because of his effort and work rate. He said Baker offers way more than his stats show as he's am outstanding long kick who can play defence, forward and wing. He also said though he wasn't known for speed when he was drafted since being at Richmond he has worked hard off the field to develop a genuine burst of speed and in recent times he's been up near the top for Richmonds Telstra Tracker's top speeds. In all honesty he sound ideal for us.I think Baker would do a LOT better than Emmett is as the HHF. Surprisingly strong hands for a small dude.
McDonald on the other hand I am pretty sure is ordinary. I can't remember a guy who offers so little yet somehow averages 2 goals per game. I don't think he gets all those cheap ones playing for us. He'd have to improve a lot for me to tick that one off. Seriously, I have no idea what his standout traits are.

DittoMacca hits the scoreboard consistently and accurately which you can't teach. There's value in that. The problem lies with the fact that these goals are mostly uncontested (from what I can tell from when I've watched him). I don't see him as particularly strong and he has yet to show defecent defensive pressure/contested marking. This is why I get the impression that he's a weak key forward and weak key forwards are liabilities during finals time. Again, I will wait until the end of this season before making a judgement on him but these are my initial impressions.
He's also played 1 more game.Apart from today, I’ve watched all of them.

That's exactly why we need a backup ruck. Imo Darcy will never play an injury-free season considering the weight he carries and the demanding role he plays. Jackson will probably have the same injuries in the back end of his career as well. That is why Treacy is worth gold to us because he can play that back-up ruck role and have an impact in that position.Dogga has that covered though?
My newsletter says Trent Rivers will be at FReo next year to join his best mate Sharp. As theres a heap of rumours here I'll add one that's Ive been told Elliot Yeo's manager inquired if there was any interest from freo during rade week and was told no. This year Yeo's an uncontracted unresricted free agent. I wouldn't rule out him ending up at Freo. Stranger things have happened.Excuse me. Can I please subscribe to your newsletter?
In 2021 Baker was recorded as Richmond's second fastest player clocking 34.74 km/hr. Very interesting. I will have to watch him more.I asked my Richmond supporting neighbour what he thought about Liam Baker and he said Baker is one of the most admired Richmond players because of his effort and work rate.
