Geez mate
I lived in Melbourne cbd for 10 years, but we have moved to an apartment in Southbank in a high rise.
We also have a toy poodle & I walk her every day, often wearing Freo merch.
But I drink my coffee long black, preferably with a slice of lemon (Ukrainian thing), but I'm no coffee snob. 7-11 is ok 4 me.
Anyway, I'll be at the game tomorrow, but I promise I'll leave my dog at home

Oh dear, you don't qualify for the real man's brigade.

Did MJ show enough to be that Fyfe replacement in the midfield or do we keep him on the wing and go for a Warner/bolton/baker to be another midfielder

Not a co-incidence he had probably his best ever game and it was in Fyfes spot. Definitely prefer more pace / class

Yep I'm talking more an understudy as a long term replacement.

Think the long term plan is still pushing him to the middle/wing.

It is absolutely possible that Tasmania poach him as an unrestricted free agent as a 32.5 year old end of 2027 for a couple of years so we will need someone from then anyway.

I think Draper could be that player.

Other than the obvious need to get more forward class - I think we need to start looking in the draft for a Luke Ryan replacement too. That midsized defender that's good in the air.
Josh Draper. He might not be midsized but he can play on anyone and will be able to play the Ryan role in a few years is my tip. His kicking is fantastic.

Draper has the skills and decision making to be an elite player. He is imo our best nga player for potential at Freo and for other clubs so far.

I’m thinking now it’s better to take our hand to the draft than trade anyone in.
We had a side today I wouldn’t leave anyone out of & we have Cox, Switta, Voss, Brodie, Ras, Stanley, Worner, Wagner, Davis, Sturt, McDonald, Murphy, Knobel, Odin, Reidy all coming through in various stages of development or injury.

There’s depth in almost every position.
We need an elite winger & some developing small & medium forwards.

Baker can play wing

We would still have 2 firsts in play plus next year's first

Interesting question - what is Andrew Brayshaw worth in salary terms?
He’s going to want at least $1m a season at least for probably 6 years.
Is that too much?
I think he’s gone backwards quite a bit from his AA winning year unfortunately. More of a third banana now in the midfield rotation.

He's still had games this year where he's been our most prolific midfielder. Would be even more so if he figured out what to do in inside 50. I think he'll be on the 750-800.

I disagree. If we can get Baker and Warner into this team we go from top 8 to contenders.

McDonald should no longer be in consideration. Idc if we made a promise to bring him over. We offered him a multi-million dollar contract which he turned down years ago so he took the gamble and lost. We don't owe him anything.

That to me means it’s time to keep trading in quality. We dont need shots at the lottery that takes 4 years to come on, we need proven guns that push an Emmett or Walters to Peel and make them depth. I’ll be disappointed if we miss on every off season target and take all to the draft.

I would guess that with JUH staying at Dogs McDonald will likely be off the table

I’ve cooled on him a bit like others based on Treacys stratospheric trajectory.

Still need someone mature and proven goal kicker to fill Sonny’s role very soon
Can’t afford to wait for rookies

Baker is that guy .

He was earning more than that 2 year ago. If we offer him that he will be out the gap quicker than you can say Gettable. I don’t care what people say about loyalty no one is taking $300k less per season, not should they.

I think he commands probably $1.1m per season on the open market from the age of 26-31. The question is, do we pay that? Is that a good investment for us?
