A 6 spot upgrade from 9 to 3 is simply enormous.

By contrast, a 6 spot upgrade from say, 42 to 36 is not that much.

Always surprises me how people value draft picks. The value of draft picks are exponential.

Some examples- in 2019, GWS paid a future 1st to move from 6 up to 4. Pick 6 + F1 = 4.
The same year Fremantle paid 28 to move from 10 to 8. Pick 10 + 28 = pick 8.

I’d suggest it costs around pick 10 to move from 9 to 3.
Pick 9 + pick 10 = pick 3

Let’s use your suggestion:
Pick 9 + Erasmus = pick 3.

You are valuing Erasmus at pick 10!!

Erasmus is worth around pick 40, optimistically.

But head over to the eagles board with it anyway for the laughs it will be funny to see their reaction

Every other VFL club especially Geelong seem to be able, with some fancy numbers balancing, seem to be able to do it.

The debate about Kossie and Bolton and how good their pressure is or their overhead marking just misses the whole point in my view. They are both game breakers who can win a game off their own boot, which is what we totally lack. The last piece of the puzzle. Freo - good back line ️, good midfield ️, good tall forwards ️, game breaking small forwards ️
