Big Footy North Melbourne supporter: Yes, another year of profit, I'm so proud of our club.

Also Big Footy North Melbourne supporter: Why do I have to pay so much in membership fees? It's a bloody outrage is what it is.

You are dreaming if you think those 4 games are coming back and that we can stay in profit without raising membership fees substantially. I'd say charging over $1000 won't cut it, and we will see those games go elsewhere.
We've raised the prices substantially already. I was on a sweet deal apparently, but I can't be the only one. I'm going to be paying slightly more than last year for my family and getting a total of 51 fewer general admission entries. You're suggesting they'll raise it again from that? That will be me out.

I wish we knew the numbers for the different membership packages. Basically I want to know out of our 50,000 members how many are actually season ticket holders vs Tasmanians, 3 game members, and interstate members.

I know we get revenue from all types of memberships, but especially with the new Tasmanian team coming our min focus needs to be on:
  • Premiership Club (Level 2) reserved Bay or Reserved Seat
  • Social Club (Level 1) reserved Bay or Reserved seat
  • 11 game general admission

You’re not going to have many upgrade to premium memberships when you’re only getting access to your seat seven games a year.

It's not very good value is it?

The mindset of the club needs to change from increasing what amounts to an email list of people who make a small financial contribution to the club, to increasing the number of what I'm calling "season ticket holders".

We should set an aim of converting 30,000 supporters to 11 game season ticket holders. It's ambitious because we only have 250,000 supporters Australia wide, but that needs to be our focus. I have a feeling we currently only have around 15-20k currently and it's not enough.

In round 2 vs Freo, we will see 15k North season ticket holders in the stadium, there will be around 1-3k Freo fans, and then 1-5k others (3 game members, non-member supporters, neutrals, corporates etc.) Total crowd somewhere between 17k and 23k.

That 2028 NM v GCFC attendance figure is slowly climbing. :) Although on a serious note, while 51,000 2023 members seems reasonably impressive, our numbers have been well and truly overtaken by Melbourne, St Kilda and the Bulldogs over the last five years. Obviously a reflection of the crash in our team's on-field performances since 2016. Since then the Bulldogs and Melbourne have both won flags which is clearly reflected in their stats. The Bulldogs were always a significant 4-5000 behind North prior to 2016 while the Dees and Saints both had similar numbers to North back at the time when our memberships were hovering around 40K.

I do wonder what our membership numbers will do once the club starts to turn around its performances. I am still not brave enough to say that the team is going to improve significantly this year, because while our team has worked hard at re-building, the other teams won't have been sitting idle either. At this stage I would be heartened if we can string together several convincing wins over the course of the season. Am I being realistic or is that beyond the realms of a realistic possibility? All the "Experts" are still predicting that North will finish 17th.

Agree on pretty much all of this.

It's pretty clear that we will never get a reliable commercially strong fixture. We might become flavour of the month for a few years here or there but we will only ever get a good for North but par for the course for an atrocious Carlton, Essendon et al fixture.

This is part of the reason I'm so adamant about ending the Tasmanian efforts as soon as practical and wanting a much, much stronger replacement offering in the meantime (seats / experience wise). We need to turn that 15k that turn up to see us play anyone at all into something around 25k+ over the next decade. That's what will force higher reserved seating needs (because you will need one to reliably get into games against other Vic clubs, particularly larger ones). That will also have us break even no matter who we are playing at which point we are in a better position to give the finger to the AFL when we so choose. Docklands stadium has a fixed mid sized capacity so the sooner we can hit 50% minimum (say 28-9k) even when playing Gold Coasts seconds and our entire 1st team suspended for unreasonable and extended celebrations after our record breaking 5th premiership in a row the better.

Not sure if i missed the news but what's the go with the Geelong game please.

Do i just buy full price tickets now or do members get a discount?

Saints eternal bloody optimists.
No doubt.

Also both those teams have played a season worth more games in Victoria over the last few years whilst we have delivered nothing but slop on field and a handful of games at home. This stuff has long term impacts and the longer we condition our supporters into not turning up the worse it will get.

40,532

Same time last year: 40,643

These are solid enough numbers given our recent performances.

The clubs will never release this information because it will mean the likes of Hawthorn would have to reveal that 20,000 of their members are cats named Josh and dogs named Jordan.

Anyone like to give me 40 dollars each for my two prem club tickets for good Friday? It's another problem with so few home games missing one really throws the value proposition at the wall

Cannot wait for the junior sport fixtures to be released to find out how few games of the seven we’ll be able to actually attend (x6 Prem Club members).

Unfortunately with the email they sent out listing the games with access to the premiership club rooms it highlighted how expensive it is per match.
I had to bite the bullet and only go for the premiership club memberships for the two of us that actually go. I’ve purchased an extra pass for next week, but the ones who don’t attend only get a general membership this year as my donation.

I just logged into the North members site to renew, and I have an invoice sitting there for a membership I didn't buy - which is an extra $100 on top of my usual membership.
