The afls only policy with mrp outcomes these days is any concussion injury is an automatic suspension. And i definitely understand that, as the head is a very important part of your body.

However they neglect the rest of the body in that policy. A reasonable person could argue that without the legs working properly you can't walk. And I know that from personal experience.

I see a lot of similarities between this incident and the Maynard-Brayshaw collision.

A guy heavily contacted from the front by someone attacking the contest in a manner that neglected their duty of care to their opponent, and a whole lot of effort being made to excuse his conduct, and somehow blame the victim.

Of course Maynard got off despite ending Brayshaw’s career, so who knows what the tribunal will do, but Archer really should be suspended for his behaviour.

BTW getting suspended isn’t the end of the world, Archer will be fine to resume his career in a few weeks. Who knows what the long term impacts will be for Cleary.
