But looks like they didn't select him, I don't believe.

Talking of not being selected, it looks like that SKevies lad you posted about this year missed out - Doug Kerr. Tough for players who do their ACL. Out of interest, what happens now, do we now lose access to him as a NextGen player in future drafts?

Any truth to the rumour that Clancy Dennis missed out because you know, Clancy?

Should change his name to Denis Dennis as I doubt many of these middle aged recruiters could resist a DD.

He'll be an overager in 2025, as long as he doesn't get selected in MSD (unlikely, he'll prob start playing games by then) he is still eligible for the 2025 draft under NGA rules.

I am somewhat surprised! This young bloke - Clancy Dennis - is an All Australian KEY DEFENDER from WA who as far as I know as 4.45 PM today has not been picked up even in today's, ROOKIE DRAFT. Rather Collingwood re-drafted OLEG MARKOV & ASH JOHNSON. OK. Personally, I would rather draft a young kid like this bloke - as a project player - as opposed to Johnson initially & then Markov, secondly. I personally do not think that we really need either of them going forward. With Houston & Perryman coming in then, I think that Markov is really superfluous to our backline needs. OK. On the flip side, I just cannot see Johnson getting any better in terms of attack on the ball, intensity & exerting real pressure on his opponent week in & week out. So I am somewhat surprised as this young 195 cm key defender & WA Under 18 State defender has been linked with us all through the lead up to the National Draft last night & not picked up.OK.I would rather keep investing in youth than blokes who have already reached their limits. Who knows, perhaps I am missing something here. Is it possible that either Markov & Johnson have had amazing starts to this pre-season & so are both training the house down? Anyway, goodbye & good luck.

Which part of AJ & Markov are contracted for 2025 don’t you understand?

It's more that we committed to redrafting them if nobody else picked them up, this plan to take three in the ND and redraft Markov and Johnson was in place from the time of the first list lodgement.

Looking likely too.

He's doing pretty well for Florida Uni. but not 'NBA well', IMHO.

Still only a sophomore at age 20 and he's taken a step forward this year but yeah not at NBA level yet.

Having said that he is showing enough this year to indicate that he could easily go the full 4 years and finish his college education, even if he doesn't make it to the NBA. Florida ranks just outside the last of the Go8 unis here as well, so it's not a trash school academically either.

That wont be the case. Media indicated, if he isn't in nba canculations come June - he'll come back home.
I'd imagine it's harder to get drafted, the longer it goes on.

I know that's been the chatter, but in Alex's situation he is coming along in his sophomore season and it's not like things can't change, the opportunity is there for him to play a bigger role if he can improve this season.

And they were contracted.(AJ at least). Would be pouring money down the drain to not relist them. The only out salary cap wise would have been if another club picked them up, which obviously didn’t happen.

Obviously these two plus Macrae will be massively under the pump this year to extend their careers.

Maybe.
The club is confident he'll be here sooner rather than later. And I doubt we're gonna continue to pay him for more than a year if we didn't think it was gonna happen

Dennis was the real kicker. Two first names is bad and sees you slip. Two shithouse first names and you're undraftable.

Numbers are getting pretty low for draftees after 3 or 4 years of college
