Do they ever train with the team?
Yeah whether its the afl or vfl side, in some aspect over summer they would
LQ, Kerr, Tadhg all trained with the vfl last pre-season. We should see Mcguane, Zac and Oscar train with one of the sides. Mcguane the afl side and the other two, prob the vfl side. I'll keep an eye out.

So why did you choose North Son of Sav?

We'll I'm shithouse at footy, so it's super exciting as I might get a game with them. It's so surreal. And unlike those good players who knew they were going to play footy, it really is surreal for someone as shit as me

This bloke a Carlton supporter? First draft I've ever seen where Jagga gets past 1 let alone 1 & 2.
There has been talk lately he could get down to pick 4.
Richmond is taking Lalor by the sounds of it, if North keep pick 2, so they go with best available with say Smith, or do they go with Tarau who they have been strongly linled to but prob not in the first 2 bracket.

That cannot be true. Few mock drafts any time lately have had Jagga Smith going #1. He goes #6 in this Zero Hanger draft. A bunch of them on the Drafts and Trading board and Youtube have him between 3-6. Besides SEN's, I couldn't find a recent mock draft with Jagga Smith at #1.

Sam Lalor is the odds-on favourite to be the #1 pick, bordering on a certainty. Finn O'Sullivan has always been in Top 3 calculations, and Levi Ashcroft obviously could push any players further back. It seems like Jagga Smith and Sid Draper are competing for that next spot after those guys.

Yeah, okay. I'll cop that. I haven't actually seen that many phantoms just lots of draft rankings. Having trawled through the draft board, in particular the phantom comp, it would appear there's some mail around Richmond and Lalor and everyone is buying into it.

Jagga is viewed as currently being the best player, but Lalor has the explosive attributes - they want the next Petracca, Dusty.

My short term wish list for this draft is that we don't leak info like a sieve ahead of this draft. The last couple of drafts it has seemed our interest in player(s) has become public knowledge, in particular Joe Richards.

Bring back the Brayden Sier types who don't even have a photo in the system!

This is what happens when you have too many picks. Take the Rayner type over the Butters type. If I were Richmond, I'd take Smith every day of the week
It's just tough. They're trying to predict the future and there's a lot of guesswork involved. I think there's a bit of FOMO too sometimes leading to the blokes who have the occasional wow moment going higher than the sure thing, you don't want to miss Buddy or Dusty when you had a shot at them.

I don't want Carlton to get smith, he's exactly what they need. The real explosive one is Ashcroft but he's taken. Let Carlton take the FOMO

I think it's inevitable. If we're really keen we do lots of research on them and thus our interest gets flagged by managers, or other clubs.

Unlike usual, Twomey doesn't seem to have much confidence in how this first round plays out - I think it's probably because Richmond have so many picks that they'll be doing a heap of work on heaps of players and he won't know what pick each one will go.

Can't really stop player managers or the people close to the player contacted for background information, from leaking that information.

One of their aims would be for their player to be drafted higher than normal so that he can from benefit from an increase in base salary.
