Pretty sure I would trust their word over yours when it comes to who north wanted. They may well have had their sights set solely on whitlock and were prepared to take him as high as 8.
There is also the fact that they went for the Whitlock who is supposedly more of a KPD than his more highly rated twin.
A KPD is a definite need.

Be surprised if the WA clubs don’t nab Davis early tonight

Dogs have early picks. Doubt they select any talls

Giants want to trade their pick in to next year

They wanted Tauru up until he was off the board. That's a given. But a definite possibility that they then switched to Whitlock ahead of the 2 KPFs that were drafted before him.

NOTE: Brisbane committed to re drafting Darragh Joyce and Darcy Craven so Stumpf and Hayes would be available in this view.

Judging by that tweet it sounded like they rated whitlock higher than tauru.

Can we all stop trying to jinx this?!!!!!!
It's hard to know how the jinx forces will function.

By saying he's not getting to us, they may be jinxing him in our direction.

A bid on Camporeale and we're in good position for a pick swap with the Blues.

Bianco… Rantall… Ruscoe, Draper etc, etc

Yes it’s unlikely… but Mcreery was pick 44

Joe Richards pick 48

Harrison pick 52

Further back Tom Langdon pick 65

If one of these kids ends up playing 50-100 games then it will be a big win for the club

But yeah… highly likely whoever they take tonight will be delisted in two years time 🤷‍♂️
Or there's really good players up to and over 50 so the chances of them making it go up compared to previous years.

So we’re jinxing the jinx so as to not to jinx ourselves?

I did a terrible job with this I even deleted it from my socials 😂 Still I think those names will be around the mark for Pies

In terms of senior list spots many do the pies have to take as a minimum tonight ?

4 picks before 70

Is it feasible they take 2 + upgrade a rookie and trade out a 2024 pick for a future pick for mcguane points?

Or can they bundle two of their picks in the 40s and move into the 30s… and still meet list/draft obligations?

Cool story. I’m not surprised you’d believe that tripe.

Going by Cal - who is the only one to go by - it would have been originally Tauru - and it would have been a straight swap with nothing back.

Cal said before the draft that they'd trade it to get a tall - who knows how they rated Whitlock against Trainor, FAull and Armstrong.

I think the tweet has a bit of mayo on it, in that the North offer would have changed a bit over the night and probably not been to all clubs - the F2 back from Richmond is significant. GWs would have bitten if that trade was offered with their F2 - the offer to them would have been for two of last night's picks.

Once Tauru was off the board - I'd say they were offering the Richmond deal to WCE with a similarly rated F2, but not to any other clubs, otherwise North's pick wouldn't have gotten to that late in the draft. To other clubs the deal would have been different and they probably didn't offer it to everyone.

It'll be intersting whether they go again and trade an F2 back into the draft or whether they use those F2s to get back in to next year's first round.

It's feasible we do take two and upgrade a rookie but none of our rookies were on the original list provided to the AFL for promotion. So in all likelihood we take three tonight and use our two picks tomorrow on Markov and Johnson.

With still a few FS picks & Academy picks yet to come, I can see our 1st selection - which is currently 45 - rising to potentially 42. With the players remaining on the board, I think that we should get at least 2, if not 3, useful draftees to pick up. With that in mind, hopefully someone will make a bid on one of the Camporeale boys as well as Logan Smith (GWS Academy), Adrian Cole (St Kilda Academy, I think) & Joel Cochran (Sydney Academy) before our 1st pick on Thursday night. Let's remain positive.
Would be nice if the Lions did that for us prior to our first pick, that cleanout effort would be worth a late pick swap prior to the commencement of the draft!

Do we have any evidence of our team showing up last night? We assume they were... but were they? I don't reckon we even saw a snippet.

Same with Mackie and Geelong... I'd remember seeing that mongrel.
Don't think you tend to see most clubs unless they are the ones picking at the time or doing a trade, so I'm sure we were there in case calls came and ticking players off the board as they get taken.

Hirdy and Swanny disagree.

Yes there are hits on occassion but few and far between and requires just as much luck as anything.
The Swan, S.Mitchell et el draft was a bloody long time ago now.

My expectations will be tempered until they show something.
Hopefully we can find another Beau McCreery or even less likely next Swan but my expectations are it's a lucky windfall rather then expected.

I wouldn't be concerned. This draft has more depth than most. Those in the 40's would be top 30 in any other year.
There is a feeling you can find some good players in our range.
When Jack Whitlock and Jobe. Shanahan likely to go into the 30's now shows the depth
