So if Tigers don't deal 6 & 11 or 6 & 10 what do we do then, go to Saints and try 7 & 8, maybe Mel for 5 & 9...and then if those teams don't want to give up their hand, then what? You only have what, 5 mins to decide to use 2? Oh wait, lets throw in a F1 as kicker...so we want to throw in a possible pick 1 to 4 next year..14th finished with 11 wins, repeat 11 wins which we haven't achieved since 2018!!
I understand your point and know the value of pick 2, but it's only valuable if someone wants it in this draft, l don't see Saints or Melbourne giving up their draft positions for one pick because of the evenness of this draft.
But l can see Richmond wanting pick 2 to get the Sheez/Wardlaw scenario but l feel their 6 is strategic if they are after Armstrong.
Any trading of picks on draft night are discussed well in advance and agreed to in principle by the clubs involved with the caveat that things can change. There isn't ever a situation where a club is sitting there on the night wondering "Gee who can we trade a pick with"

It's wild that the Tigers board gets visited by the big lebowski for seasoned and reasonable discussion about potential trades for pick 2, but we get stuck with a never ending stream of tugger f***wits spouting garbage.
Have you not been to a Tigers game? Story kinda stacks up

Completely understand, just pointing out that there is 27 days to make these deals and l hope that Brady doesn't panic on the night if he can't get any bidders shopping around pick 2 and do something stupid like offer a F1 in the 5min window on the night!

Give Brady some credit, he's already said we're only prepared to slip back 3 or 4 places from pick 2, there's clearly a limit on what we're prepared to do with current and future draft picks. The fact that you think he'll "panic and do something stupid" says more about you than him.

I know!!!!

If everyone were like me Bigfooty and the world would be better off.

But nothing would get done.

Nothing.

What does 19 have to do with it?

As noted in the other thread, with the club signing Cooper Harvey to a 1 year deal, we now have two available senior list positions, and two draft selections (2 + 62).

If we were to split pick 2 as many have speculated about, we'd need to end up with no more than a total of 2 total draft picks, or we need to delist a contracted player and pay out their remaining contract.

Is Harvey confirmed as getting a 1 year extension?

Such a shit outcome for a really good draft class.

Not a Brady basher mate, l'll give him credit where it's due and where it isn't but l'm entitled to the view that l hope he doesn't do something stupid for the sake of splitting 2 like involve a F1...and yes l am one of those 'don't give away your F1' camp.

Any trading of first round picks would be discussed within the senior members of the football department and conveyed to the board well ahead of time. Brady would not be doing panic deals unilaterally without approval.

There is no history of Brady "panicking and doing something stupid" on draft night to suggest that he might do so in this draft. I think you can be reassured that it we do split pick it will be for a reasonable return, it might not quite meet the high expectations of the trade and draft experts on this forum but he won't be "doing something stupid just for the sake of splitting pick 2"

We need to draft three (and that can include upgrading a rookie) as per the rules so something will have to give.

That's fair and totally understand why you would want to retain pick 2 as well. We're fortunate that pick 6 will net a very strong midfielder anyway. I dont think the dream of having Lalor/FOS is held that strong by Hartley. I hope you guys get the guy that Carlton so desperately wants (whoever that may be).
Just **** right off mate, ya not getting a gun mid at pick 6. Ship off

3 over the Nd and rookie draft yes.

Where did you find that? I've only got National Draft/PSD (2017 rules though). If you're right it makes it less an emergency to shift the books.
