We just recruited Darling for a couple of years because we need an aggressive leading forward to help Larkey and make our forward line function better. We need to recruit a player who will be ready to replace him in two years. It would be rather odd to have a mentor without a protege.

Fortunately, there are a stack of these guys in this draft. Armstrong, Shanahan, Faull, Gerryn, Barrat, Sims, I've probably forgotten some. Unfortunately, unless we think Tauru is one, we don't have any picks in a good range to draft one after trading them both out. Hope that we are working on this.

Lol, lost in translation. I was trying to joke about the wording of what you said. 'he says he's told North....' as in Collingwood's scout was trying to tell us who we're interested in.

Option A, he had wheels and tests well across 5-10-20m sprints, but he doesn’t often use it while playing the game.

My girlfriend is a mad north fan so you’re my second team, but I feel like if Tauru isn’t the guy at 2, north could lock in Jagga Smith a future captain. Every team needs a 30+ disposal silky accumulator. Would be pumped with either him or FOS but I rate Jagga for north as you already have plenty of POD around the midfield with LDU and Sheez.

I get the Jagga/midfielder premise but I feel like we will just end up like gws with bulk mids and don’t get anywhere by doing so. Jagga us like plugging cogs in, great in theory but hasn’t really worked for the giants overall

Tauru could be anything just don’t let him kick

That's the problem NewDarkNavyBlues, the closer to the draft it gets, the more we are getting restless and to some posters annoyed, because they only see one side of the coin. What IF we did like Alix Tauru and what IF we only have picks #2 and #62, so what? We will attempt to trade in our future first and possibly take Finn, Sid or even Sam and get our key forward with that pick, I'm betting Blair has 2 gun mids at the top of their list and that they love both of them and want to get them both, but to some supporters they will just get the next top player, that's my point.

WHAT IF BLAIR WANTS THOSE TWO GUN MIDS, NOT ONE GUN MID AND A PLAYER THAT MAY FALL AT PICK 6 OR WHATEVER AND THEN GET HIM EVEN THOUGH HE MAY BE THE DOWN THE ORDER ON THEIR LIST. I think whether its the tigers or the Saints, a possible deal may have been sorted out already and might come into play draft night and not left to the last minute. I think you guys are into either Finn O'Sullivan or Sid Draper.

I've compared him to a J Ziebell but with better decision making. Ultimately though, I think it's his speed as to why he wouldn't be in the conversation with pick 2.

If we picked him though, I'd be stoked. Has plenty of attributes that's suggests he'll be a 200+ gamer at AFL level.

That's my biggest concern with him, not quite the speed and class of a superstar, but he's likely a 200 gamer.
Maybe that consistency is a good thing and Sheezel is all that quick, but Sheez's footy IQ is off the charts.
I could see him getting caught holding the ball at AFL level because he doesn't have the zip to break away.
Can you actually improve your top end speed? I'm sure Langford would do that kind of work if possible.
Would his size could allow him to shrug tackles or give him time to release the ball when the tackle comes?
I like a lot of things about him just see a bit more upside in FOS/Lalor/Draper/Smillie and class in Smith.

Pretty sure Twomey had James Barrat in the next 10 group, so 30-40 range.
Thought he was more of a 3rd tall defender interceptor at 194cm?

Not from memory... he's about 175, fast, skilful, evasive, good crumber.
