Considering who is still available in the draft, I wouldn’t be against Stevens having another year at Coates League as an over ager to build up his body a bit more. It would probably be more beneficial for him, rather than getting beat up in the VFL by mature bodies.

Trade in a F2 for one of Whitlock, Gerreyn, Shanahan, Sims, O’Farrell or Mraz.

Take 54 to the draft and go after a defender like Jacques, Barrat or Charleston. Or alternatively go for more of a raw midfielder/wing with upside like Boxshall, Retschko, Day-Wicks or Greggo.

What are the rules on who gets an overage year in Coates League?

Not rated in top 50 players maybe needs another year in the under 18 comp but won’t happen he will be selected as we made the statement we want him.
I just hope one day we have a supporter that has a bit of McGuire,Kennett and Trump in them that get rid of incompetent people with egos and no care factor with woke agendas.
I think this club needs to die for it to be re born.

Clarkson and Viney didn't give sentimentality a second thought at Hawthorn, quite prepared to let father-sons slip.

Will be interesting if we bite at Stevens umprompted in the ND.

Perhaps wait and see. If we lose pick 8 or 9 (plus gain 19 from Richmond back), then as I said, not as bad as some are making out.
But it won't be 19 back. Been a long time since the start of the 2nd round was 19.

we have made no commitment to select him

have just nominated him

we can choose to let him go undrafted

can re-assess him next year if we want him fs

Dons coming hard for prized first pick

Rival clubs believe Essendon wants to trade for the first pick of the national draft’s second round to snare key forward Jobe Shanahan.

Richmond holds the opening selection on night two at No.28 and the Bombers are understood to be trying to package a future first-rounder to move up from 37.

ssendon holds two 2025 first-rounders – its own and Melbourne’s after trading pick 9 to the Demons last month.
Teams thought Shanahan, who was overlooked during the first round on Wednesday night, was the player the Bombers would target.

The 195cm Bendigo Pioneers forward played for Essendon’s VFL side this year, kicking 11.3 from three matches.

Touted as a potential top-15 prospect, Shanahan was one of the sliders on night one, along with Murray Bushrangers tall forward Jack Whitlock, Sturt ruckman Alex Dodson and Eastern Ranges midfielder Christian Moraes.

Richmond has already taken two tall forwards with its six selections – Jonty Faull and Harry Armstrong – so is considered unlikely to want Shanahan.

But if the Tigers trade, they will probably be passing up on Dodson, whom they have long been linked to.

The South Australian has been linked to St Kilda, which holds the fifth pick on Thursday night.

Geelong might try to swoop on an earlier pick to target Dodson.

This masthead revealed on Saturday that the Cats really liked the All-Australian big man, but they would need to trade up to get him because their first selection was not until 42

GR are we interested in the other brother

I hope Richmond trade their next pick or a future third round. The melts will be hilarious.
Under my new title as The Real Nostrils I believe this to be exactly how it goes down.

Long may the melting continue.

Little bit of hope that they do actually do that but it’s to us as it was in part of the deal last night but they split it up for the lols

Which part is incorrect? No other club used or acquired one of the first 26 picks to draft him. List needs and which clubs held which picks are just elements of the market that determined he was worth no more than pick 27. Draft boards are

Sooking! Like so many. A predictable glass half full mob we are.
And there is a lot of them, it’s Kane Cornes has infiltrated this board.
