Maybe not consistent but can absolutely clunk them. Some think it's one of his best assets

Yeah I’ve heard that.

Took that great pack mark on the wing vs country, but every other highlight I’ve seen has him double grabbing, dropping or kicking goals in other ways.

At least with Tauru once the ball hits his hands it’s generally just sticks there.

Shanahan is the other I really like.

I’d take him before Armstrong everyday of the week

I would be adding Kangford (ok that was a spelling error but I’m keeping it) if reports/rumours of North’s interest are true.

I just want us to pick the smartest player with best playing intensity. After watching literally tens of two minute highlights, I’m willing to claim that Kangford is that player.

When I mentioned Langfords interview processes yesterday I was kind of inferring it was us.

I’d say late 30’s/ early 40’s.

Couldn’t argue he’s done more in his draft year than

Whitlocks (15-25)
Trainor (20ish)

Around on par with Ofarrell, Barnett
I know this is a woe is me thought but, man we had five first rounders in the wrong draft.

Chuck our picks around and last year we take McKercher with Archie Roberts late plus upgrade a rookie and this year we grab a haul like O'Sullivan, Tauru, Berry, Shanahan and M. Whitlock.

I still don't get why we aren't more invested in Harry Armstrong. He is rated higher amongst most power rankings by draft experts, has a far better body of work behind him almost matching that of a Cadman, did it in the Champs, is a much bigger need on our list than an intercepting defender, failed forwards can end up being gun defenders anyway, and we have Jack Darling for 2 years that he can develop under.
Because Shanahan >>>

I think we can get shanahan with an early teens first rounder

Would you consider a f1 for Melbourne’s 9 to grab Tauru a good stat if we are able to nab one of the big 5 mids this year?

I rate next years draft, but I’d probably do that trade if we really are that invested in in Tauru.

I’ve listened to a few of Harry’s interviews ect, he doesn’t scream confident to me which I think is one of the most important things in a key forwards. Might be looking into things a bit much but maybe he doesn’t quite seem have the killer instinct/competitive attitude that you’d want in a top tier key forward.

The Whitlock boys are naturally competitive because of the twin situation. Shanahan plays with a real confidence in his game.

Tom Sims is another who is ultra competitive and really likes throwing his weight around.

I hadn’t seen this vid of Alix.

Debuted for Warragul seniors as a 16 year old in 2023.

20 disposals, 12 marks 3 goals

Not bad lol

Thats the dusties, ie warragul industrials. Not a bad side but a fair way behind warragul fc who play in gippy Latrobe which is one of the top 5 country leages.

McKercher, Duursma, Goad, Hardeman, Dawson

That's still a good haul.

I said last year that we made a mistake trading both of the end of first round priority picks, as it wasn’t obvious that we were going to notably improved.

We should’ve split them. Traded one into last year and then kept one for this year.

Our draft hand would’ve been fantastic had we of done that and had we had of not traded 25 for Daniel (which I think was overpaying).

Could’ve had 2, 23 & 26.

And then next year this time you’d say the same.

To safe guard not losing it - we could of traded it for another pick in this years draft

Tauru
  • Best athlete for a key position player in the draft (probably behind Allan as overall athlete)
  • Highest rate of improvement in the draft
  • Versatility to play multiple positions at a high level
  • His best traits win games
  • Has grown, turns 18 today, can continue to grow
  • Super competitive

All points towards exploding in an AFL environment.
I like him as a key forward. I don’t mind him as an intercept defender.

I don’t really like him at 2 but I’d be fine with it.

Happy to back him in if they think he’s what we need.

Would work well with either Larkey or W Dawson I think.

I feel about the same about FOS as I do about Tauru in their respective positions.

Read a comparison with weideman and curnow from there draft year.

Weidmann had the better body of work, was taken before curnow who had more potential

Like most on here I have no idea what the club will do with P2 but if it’s used on Tauru I would be very happy based on what I have seen and heard about him he would be joining a young group that can do great things in 2-3 years I have no doubt, in 5 days we will know.
