I just saw the disgusting dirty hit on Trevor Lawrence against the Texans. That is the worst I have seen since the Pittsburgh Steelers deliberately attacked the knees of Bengals QB Carson Palmer, causing him to tear his ACL.

The only fair penalty for the hit is to strip the Texans of the win and award it to the Jaguars.
It was a clear ejection but ive seen plenty worse. Odell Beckham not getting kicked out of the game vs the Panthers in 2016 when head charging Josh Norman from 10 yards away for one.

Lions are also a dirty as f**k team. They play the eagles in the playoffs and there is a bounty on Barkley and try and send him off and make it a Hurts game.

Both teams also like to mouth off and it could get nasty.

Lions win on Friday and the NFC likely runs through Ford Field given they would need to drop 2 games to lose the #1 seed from tiebreakers

That drop in week 2 could cost the Eagles the one seed. Crazy how the little moments hurt. Having said that, Lions have Packers, Bills, Vikings. Possible there's two losses in there.

Doubt Eagles win out though. We're due to drop one. 12 week winning streaks aren't common. Maybe Steelers, maybe Commander.

It was only 7 weeks ago Sirianni was getting ripped apart after the Browns game, it's all gone quiet now though. I still think he's an idiot but the Eagles are rolling on and just doing what they need to do. I think the Lions will have too much firepower for them in January but there aren't many other teams that will trouble them, maybe the Bucs who have been good but don't have the same top end talent.

A11dAtP0w3R what do you make of the Panthers last 4 weeks? Compared to earlier in the season it's a stark turnaround and Young has looked more comfortable after sitting for a while (similar to Richardson) - do you think there's hope with him or is it fools gold? I'm hoping he can continue on the same trajectory next year and give me a team to have an interest in because the Jets are about to blow everything up and it will be bleak viewing for the next couple of years.

Josh Allen was not credited with a reception, but he was credited with seven receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.

The list of games of players with zero receptions and a receiving touchdown is rare -- but it's not the first time this has come up this season!

Allen joined Jahmyr Gibbs (Week 3 of this season against the Cardinals) and Allen Rice in 1984 as the only players in the Super Bowl era to score a receiving touchdown in a game in which they did not record a reception.

As far as games with a touchdown passing, rushing and receiving -- Allen is just the 14th player to do so in the same game in NFL history -- and the only quarterback.

Jayden Daniels became the first rookie in NFL history to complete 80 percent of his passes, throw three touchdowns and run for at least one more in a single game.

It was also the third time this season the former Heisman Trophy winner completed at least 80 percent of his passes (while attempting at least 20) in a single game. Daniels is the first rookie in the Super Bowl era with at least three games with 20-plus pass attempts and a completion percentage of at least 80.

Trey McBride in Week 12 against the Seahawks: 12 receptions for 133 yards.
Trey McBride in Week 13 against the Vikings: 12 receptions for 96 yards.
The Cardinals? 0-2 in that span.

Those are the two highest single-game reception totals by a tight end in Cardinals history and mark the first time in NFL history that a tight end has caught at least 12 passes in consecutive games.

The Bengals' 44-38 loss to the Steelers was the fifth time this season in which Joe Burrow has thrown for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in a loss -- the most such losses by a quarterback in a single season in the Super Bowl era.

The Bengals have scored at least 38 points in three games this season but are just 1-2 in those contests. The rest of the NFL is 21-0 when scoring 38-plus in a game in 2024.

Those two losses in games with 38-plus points are tied for the most in a season in NFL history, joining the 2018 Chiefs, 1983 Chiefs, 1966 Giants and 1962 Broncos.

For Justin Herbert, it was the 10th consecutive game in which he did not throw an interception. The only other players in NFL history to go at least 10 consecutive games in a row attempting 15-plus passes and remaining interception-free are Tom Brady (11-game streak in 2010) and Derek Carr (10-game streak in 2018).

T.J. Watt registered 2.0 sacks in the Steelers' 44-38 win against the Bengals in Week 13, bringing his career total to 106.0 sacks in eight seasons, surpassing Jared Allen for the third-most sacks in a player's first eight career seasons since 1982.

The only players with more sacks in their first eight seasons are Hall of Famers Reggie White (124.0) and DeMarcus Ware (111.0).

I think its more about what Fangio has put together than Nick right now. Dejean played his first game for the year in the Browns game. The difference to our defence since then is amazing.

If we end up in Detroit in the champs game (far from guaranteed) and they run it up on this defence, they deserve the superbowl and I'll hope they win it.

This is also the question to be asked for past non QBs that didn't win.

What did the winners do.

This year, this is the alternative case.

It doesn't account for his running, but if he wins its not because it's an irresistible case.

If you’re going to make a bad case, at least use the real numbers

Post-game today he is
13th
T6th
T63rd
2nd

(And then you can account for his running - 28ypg, 4.8ypa, 6TD)

We haven't had that group together pretty much at all I guess is my point. The passing games really kind of struggled. We're winning because Saquon keeps breaking games.

You can also credit our on-line, no drama. It's valid. But we've seen other running backs, good ones play with all these guys. And it's still not this.

Yup.
Same point re Josh and our offence. And OLine is doing great but he is amazing.

Leonard Williams' 92-yard touchdown was the longest pick-six in NFL history by a player who weighed at least 300 pounds. The only 300-pounder with a longer touchdown of any kind was Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson (also a former USC Trojan) in 2006 against the 49ers; Patterson picked up a fumble and returned it 98 yards for a score.

Was actually referring to the wildcard game against Seattle the year before.

Ah ok...well 2 years ago is beyond my memory range these days but it still wasn't anywhere near the weather of the games I referred.

The past two weeks have definitely swung my view (which sounds stupid coz its a two weeks sample size but it really is night and day). As nice as it was to win against the Saints and Giants Bryce played with the training wheels fully on in those games, quality NFL backup level and nothing more. But hes legitimately looked like an NFL QB the past two weeks for the first time since hes been drafted, handled all sorts of pressure well, making some great throws under pressure and been let down by his teammates for the most part. Still dont think he'll ever be a world beater but I think he can at least get to a Tua level now if hes surrounded by some better talent.

Confident we have the right head coach, all I wanted to see is progress as the years gone on and thats what's happened. Canales gets away from the run a bit too often but his system clearly works imo. Been nice to see the Panthers play some watchable football in some games this year for the first time in nearly 10 years.

There is a lot of merit in sitting a young QB for a bit to arrest a negative trend and reset.

A lot of qbs are destroyed playing in unfavorable conditions week after week. Sometimes when you are bad, taking time out and seeing your replacement struggle can take the pressure off you.

Not to celebrate injury but good, he was ruining fantasy leagues being named as a TE running up ridiculous scores and I hate him coz I dont have him in any leagues... :tearsofjoy: ... suck shit you cheats with him, funs over.

Demeco Ryans defends Al-Shairs hit as Lawrence's fault for sliding late to milk an extra yard. Al-Shair also says it wasn't his fault as the slide came late as he went in for a stop, split seconds in time.

Not sure anyone else sees it that way.

It's a bit of both. Defender didn't need to do it but QBs sneaking extra yards because defenders are scared of late hit flags is also a thing.

Sliding in the open field with a defender bearing down is always dangerous. Observers think NFL footballers can just freeze an action mid frame. At the pace they play its just not possible.

Couple that with a lot of QBs who fake going down or out of bounds and defenders are in a no win situation.

Having looked at it several times (and as a Jag fan) it wasn't a dirty or late hit.

In real time and from the initial angle, it looked like a helmet hit BUT it was a hands to the chest push which due to the opposing momentum of each player, caused Lawrence's head to jerk backwards and unfortunately, to hit the ground hard.

It was one of those split second actions that appear worse than it really was.

Al-Shair looked up and saw the flag, raised his hands, asking the ref what he did wrong.
From the direction the flag came from, the ref probably saw Lawrence's head hitting the ground and assumed that there was illegal contact to the head, which there wasn't.

HTH

Seen mahomes fake going out.of bounds a few times and get yards extra. Someone needs to send him to the shadow realm if he keeps doing it.

Happened a couple of weeks ago against us. 49er defenders literally froze on the sideline and Mahomes turned upfield for another 15 yards.

May as well hit him and risk the 15 yard penalty.

We would also get to see Mahomes laid out, issued the last rites only to return to the field 2 plays later.
