Oh the free kick bit was another 5 minutes of wasting time.
Most teams are not dumb enough to commit penalties on a fair catch let alone an end of half/game one so cant really blame the zebras for not knowing the rules.

I kinda understand some if them because each ref has a threshold for judgement calls. but way too many are inconsistent. the rules need to clear up some rules.

But lets be real the only change in the offseason will be a new kickoff/onside changes or a 4th and 15 or 20 in replace for a onside kick.

I hope the last bit never happens. What has the trailing done to deserve a free possession?

League would just be exposing officiating crews to more timely PIs, holding etc depending on the prevailing narrative.

I feel like it would be 1 play from their own 25 and if its picked off then the defense gets the ball. but the question becomes if they scored a TD do they get it or is it a successful conversion and 1st and 10 from midfield or whatever.

the onside thing needs to be reworked. but other then a single play not sure if there are any good options. It needs to be a 4th and 20 or so just so its not easy to pick up.

Could be a 4th and goal from the 20 and you need to "score" to get the possession but dont get points just so there is the back of the endzone as a extra defender and less space to cover but offence still needs to get a big play. but if there is a PI call then its not a success its just retry but half the distance unless its a clear one by the db like the professional foul type thing. or only have skyjudge throw a flag for clear calls 50/50 is let go

But knowing the NFL they will do it without thinking about all the little things and have it a mess like always.

Thought they were going to nix the tush push

wouldnt be surprised if they look at it again. might change the rules to prevent OL starting in a 4 point stance on them

Oh man this qb sliding is so random.

Make the rule for qb runners same as when they are in the pocket. Can't hit helmets or go low then so what's the problem for a qb in the open field?
the slide is the issue. if they stay standing while running they get blown up.

If they removed the protections QB's get and are treated as runner like RB/WR they wouldnt slide because it wont be a flag unless its a dirty hit [the Lawrence one] or they slide much earlier.

without QB protections Herbert doesnt run because its not worth a hit for 5yds when that contact wouldnt draw a flag under a rule change.

They get hit harder a lot of the time on blind side sacks. The slide puts them in harms way and defenders are confused on what to do because a lot of qbs sneak free yards.

2 good TNF games in 3 weeks, what is going on here!
I feel like the Chargers are a team who always play good TNF games just because are so crazy you know they are going to do some good stuff and let other teams also look good at times.

Chargers should play the Cardinals every week. The Chocolate wheel at Crown would provide great in game analysis.
