Translation. Montgomery finally met a medico who told him what he wanted to hear.
So true. Likely one who told him yes you need surgery on your MCL like all the others did but this one said your ACL is still intact so give it a go, what's the worst that can happen? Would just be more surgery on the same knee you were already going to have surgery on so no risk!

Give me the latest on this: Clark vs. Rodgers: A Deepening NFL Feud

The feud between Ryan Clark, an ESPN NFL analyst and former player, and Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, has escalated recently, fueled by public exchanges on various platforms. Here's an overview based on the latest developments:

Public Spat Over Comments:
  • Aaron Rodgers criticized the state of sports media and specifically ESPN analysts during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," suggesting that many commentators are former players using controversial opinions to stay relevant. He called out the shift from the "SportsCenter" of his youth to a talk-show dominated environment where opinions often lack substance.
    https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...rk-aaron-rodgers-espn-pat-mcafee/76967743007/
  • In response, Ryan Clark, who has been an outspoken critic of Rodgers, particularly regarding his performance and leadership with the Jets, labeled Rodgers a "fraud" on ESPN's "First Take." Clark pointed out the hypocrisy in Rodgers' comments, given that he himself was appearing on ESPN to share his opinions for payment, similar to the analysts he was criticizing.

Vaccination Status and Personal Attacks:

Broader Implications:
  • This feud has sparked discussions about the role of former players in media, the influence of personal beliefs on public statements, and the dynamics of sports media in the modern era. It has also highlighted the tension between current athletes and media analysts, especially when both parties have high-profile platforms like ESPN.

  • The situation has been described as a "powder keg" for ESPN, given that both Rodgers and Clark are personalities associated with the network in different capacities.

This ongoing feud reflects not only personal animosities but also broader debates about media, athlete responsibility, and public discourse in sports.
tbf Rodgers himself the other day said in 5 years no one is going to give a **** about his career either. Said he only goes on the Pat McAfee show as AJ Hawk is one of his best mates and he likes it as its not a 'got ya show' (which a lot are)

Regardless of your thoughts on Rodgers he is 100% correct in relation to a lot in the media. They dish it out but dont like it given back to them or them being pulled up on their wrong calls.

Finished it yesterday.

If you can get past the waffle around the obscure meds/psychedelics and the clear ego ride, there's a decent football story in there.

I really don't think Aaron is half as smart or enlightened as he thinks he is.

I also suspect we might see him retire this off season. This season has obviously not been good for him or the Jets. Not sure it's in anyone's best interests to do that again next season.
the football story has been good so far (1 episode)

The story of him and his college coach sitting their and playing checkers on reading defences was pretty cool

It seems like when he was younger he had a chip on his shoulder and just learnt the game to an extremely high level, couple that with natural talent and you have a killer mix

The fact he would work out statistical %'s on passes and routes was interesting, explains why he didnt trust rookies for a while. Being a numbers guy myself watching him calculate square roots in his head is super ****ing impressive, maybe he isnt as smart as he thinks but that is a very, very complex thing to be able to do off top of your head.

Yeah that's kind of what I was alluding to - if you get through the extras, I think the actual football story is well worth watching.

As he actually explained, it's not a very complex thing to do at all. It was a trick/system that helped with it, you just need to know the trick/system. He's not a savant with it, he still has to use the trick. He's clearly not an idiot, I just don't think he's as smart as he thinks he is.

The mental arithmancy thing has always interested me.

I'm really good with that myself. Used to ace all non calculator section of maths exams but once the calculator section came, I was utterly useless (algebra, pythagoras theorem etc).

You'd think if you were good at one, you'd be good at the other but that certainly wasn't my experience.

Jets fans might get some luck and have Trump pick him to be a worker for him again and send him away again.

Not that the Jets were any less dysfunctional last time he was foreign secretary or whatever he was.

If you want to get away from bad ownership I wouldnt recommend the Panthers :tearsofjoy:

I'm lost for words at the level of clown show this is. **** this rich buffoon, if he's not going to sell the franchise I may have to find a different one next season. Panthers could be fun 🤷
I'm with A11dAtP0w3R here's a list of worst to best owners and I would recommend avoiding any team in the top half:

32) David Tepper, Carolina Panthers
31) Woody Johnson, New York Jets
30) Mark Davis, Las Vegas Raiders
29) Jimmy Haslam, Cleveland Browns
28) Amy Adams Strunk, Tennessee Titans
27) Shad Khan, Jacksonville Jaguars
26) John Mara and Steve Tisch, New York Giants

What makes the Titans so bad. i get the groups around them. but would have Chargers worse. and Texans are way worse then 18. Tampa i dont think are too bad.

KC are actually kinda shitty. they are using their recent success to get a new stadium by pulling the "if you dont fund it all we will move" unless they backtracked on that from backlash.

Would also have Rams 10 and move up Vikes and Falcons.

Stan Kroenke top 10. I'm calling a mistrial.

Its more that most of the others are shit. but i should drop him to the 20s just for moving from St. Louis. Other then that he is a campaigner. but at least SoFi was built without public funding

Agreed and just shows the number of shit human beings that have managed to buy a ticket to the most exclusive club in the world.

NBA Boxing Day ad is pretty cool....almost got me interested enough to watch some of it
Its really just one game they are doing a special thing for.

Oh. The ad shows a schedule of 5 Boxing Day games so only one is animated?

Disney involvement scares me. They have pretty much ****ed up every franchise they have got their hands on not involving a talking mouse or a dog in overalls.
Disney have owned ESPN since the late 90s and stayed hands off for the most part. But i agree most of the stuff they takeover end bad. Its more so if the Disney people get to make all the decisions or let them run themselves.
