You got to admit the Browns are really good at making sure not to win. Fans and players are pissed at them playing DTR, you want Winston again? No, we cant do that he dealing with an "injury" at the moment, have Zappe.

Raiders fans wish they could tank like this. When they try and lose they play the best they do all year

What an absolute clown
Stephen A with some real in-depth analysis there. He must think Mahomes isnt that good either coz hes only gone over 300 yards 3 times this year too.

TBF they played the Saints who are also in tank mode.
They also played the falcons so close that the falcons made a switch at QB.

But every year you can book the Raiders for a December win that costs them draft picks

Same with the Giants. Devito's pointless 3 game win streak cost them Drake Maye.

There is a Giants fan I listen to who is convinced the Eagles are only resting players so it ****s the Giants and they end up with the 8th - 10th pick after having pick 1 all but secured before last week.

He is ****ing fuming. Really pissy. 😂😂

Well he says not since Bears game which is wrong because he had another two games in Dec including just last week. So Darnold has three, Lamar has two, Josh three. Of course not that it matters as 300 yds is not some be all indicator of performance. Nor the fact that their teams would be usually in front and try and run and kill the clock late in the game.

I know ESPN are paying him a truckload but to have to justify by getting him to comment on football or baseball is embarrassing for them

We still suck and we still do stupid things like late season wins but this isn't the year to finish low and draft a franchise QB, so there's that. Hopefully we miss on Sanders.

Just go BPA (like Bowers), build the team and hopefully we're bad enough next year or the year after to draft our future franchise QB. The issue is, nobody has patience and people lose their jobs too easily and we start all over again.

Seems like JJ McCarthy will be the best young QB available this offseason. How far down the board would the Raiders need to fall before trading their first round pick for him?

Reckon quite a number of QB needy teams will be keen on McCarthy, who possibly might only fetch a high 2nd. Not to mention a market for a guy like Malik Willis, who showed up well in his spot duties.
If the Vikes demand a first, they'll get it. Browns, Titans, Giants and Raiders all desperately need a QB and McCarthy is rated better than Sanders or Ward by many.

Vikings won't move on from McCarthy (unless they know something we don't). You're always a snap away from a QB injury, or the clock striking midnight and them turning into a pumpkin.

His cap number is $5m, pretty much what you'd pay a decent back up.

The only way I could see it happen would be for a pick similar to what they used, but even with that I'd still think they'll keep him.

I'm intrigued to see what could happen with McKee. Play well with mostly backups against the Giants and he could be one that sees some interest as well. There is something there with him.

McCarthy is still the same player he was 12 months ago. Coaching matters but because he had some good camp tape and part of a preseason game he is now much better.

He wasn't a 1st round worthy pick 12 months ago. And look at what Kevin O'Connell has done with a player from the scrap heap in Darnold. I would be worried to touch either of them since the coaching staff isn't coming with them to a new team.

Coaching is the most important thing. We have seen bad QBs saved by great coaching and seen elite talents wasted with bad coaching.

McKee fell more then I expected. He had some good tape at Stanford and worked with little there. His last year hurt him because of the OL got hurt and became a mess. Entering the 22 season he was scouted as a borderline day1/2 pick if his play didn't fall off

I agree with what you say but how much is a 1st rounder worth?

Yes the $$ cost might actually be higher than $5m but the GM would value the 1st - even just by moving it on for multiple 2nds etc

I dont think its as cut and dried as keeping him for $5m

They'll keep him as they think he's the future of their franchise, and only a preseason injury prevented him from starting week 1.

You don't move off him for a few extra pieces of you believe in him that much.

The money reasons are just the logical balancing. There's no financial gain to shipping him and your better off having a QB ready to go over scrambling and shutting down your season
