Is there any official rules for comeback player of the year. If it doesn't need to be injury/IR related surely Darnold wins unless you had to be considered good before this season.

But Kevin O'Connell has to be unanimous coach of the year. Anyone votes differently should lose voting privileges given what they have done vs expectations for the season
Pretty sure the rules were changed for comeback player of the year and Darnold is ineligible - TBH, I don’t think he cares, he’s got $50 million reasons to not care

The AP has clarified that the "spirit of the AP Comeback Player of the Year Award is to honor a player who has demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity by overcoming illness, physical injury, or other circumstances that led him to miss playing time the previous season."
These rules are designed to focus the award on true comeback stories involving overcoming adversity, rather than just performance improvement. However, the interpretation of what constitutes "other circumstances" can still lead to some subjectivity in voting.

Just finished watching the chiefaholic doc.

My conclusion? What a piece of shit human. Although not quite as bad as his blind social media followers calling for his release.

I suppose it’s all round but Allen would be lucky to be top 3-4 passers this season. I mean he’s ranked 24th on completion % !!

Lamar is having the second best season by QBR rating ever. behind only that Rodgers ridiculous season. Lamar is also the better runner.

Unless Lamar has a QBR rating above 113; the team has lost the game. That shows that he gets no help.
When Allen has a QBr below 100; his team has won 6-2. That shows that he gets a lot of help.

Yeah Jackson should win the MVP easily, Allen has a had a very good season but not as good as Lamar or Saquon.

Put your money on it, Goff will be MVP especially if Lions get the #1 seed

Interesting stat…Goff is 17-0 td/int on 3rd & 4th downs this season ..pretty impressive

I meant literally for the award. For the reasons you gave too. He surely will be in the conversation especially if Lions get the #1

Lions are favoured to win the game and be #1

Goff is $251

No chance.

They don’t have a defence, but they sure as hell have an O Line and Running backs.

Help from whom?

Bills have played most of the leagues top 10 defences, so it’s not a shock if he has had a lower QBR overall.
Have a bottom 5 special teams unit.

Jackson had a 65 QBR v KC, and 58 v Buffalo, Allen 84 v KC and 30 v Ravens.
Both 1-1.
Jackson 36.8 against Philly in a hugely consequential loss at home, Allen 95 in a hugely consequential win over Detroit on the road..

Jackson has a running back playing not far behind Barkley level, who is in MVP conversations himself. Allen does not.

I swear to God man, if Barkley beats an all-time record and it's not good enough for the MVP? I might just flip right out.

Typically records and awards don't phase me much, but you have to reward someone making history, doing something significant that's never been done before. We're not talking some obscure bullshit stat, we're talking about rushing more yards than anyone in history.

Totally fair point.

But the issue is
1. He doesn’t have the record. Over 16 games he is behind Dickerson. In fact he is #8
In a 17 game season, there is only a few years of history to compare.

2. Henry is pacing him in almost all categories, except yards. And given Jackson has 852 rushing yards to Hurts 650 (and a few for Pickett), it’s fairly even between them, to be honest.

It's been pointed out multiple times that from a YPC and a YPG perspective Saquon's season is exceeding Dickerson's. The 16 game argument is just super reductive and lazy.

I really wanted to see him break the record - but we don't have a lot to play for this weekend, so this is the smart, pragmatic decision.

Your defence has bailed Allen out. The Ravens D was in the bottom 3 for most of the year. Recently, they dropped their second highest paid player and got much better play from his replacements.

Henry is only slightly ahead in explosive runs compared to Cook. Allen takes the goal line carries from Cook, so Cook could have a lot more TD.

Allen converts at about ~48% inside the 5 yard line; Ravens use RBs who convert at 58% inside the 5 yard line. These additional TDs are the only category where he is ahead of Lamar. Everything else, he is behind…. Except for wins (which has been influenced by the Bills D being better).

Amari Cooper has over 10,000 receiving yards in his career. He had over 1,200 yards last year.

We played the AFCW, which is a tough division; while you played the AFCS who only have the sometimes good Texans.

Cincinnati, Steelers and Browns are much tougher than Jets, Pats and Dolphins. Dolphins being the best of those 3 and their current starting QB didn’t make the Browns roster….

Yeah he is getting traded or cut in March now. Not worth waiting the extra year for better cap savings now for a player who is always hurt. Prob should of done it 12 months ago seems like the issues he had leading to us suspending him late last season were never really fixed.
