A mistake I think - they would do better at looking to the Pacific with PNG and NZ2NRL is set to invade Perth.
Perth’s NRL fate to expected to be decided by October

Western part of SEQ- Logan and Ipswich is a huge area of RL heartland that they take for granted. Ipswich Jets/Logan Brothers one of them or an amalgamation could step in and be an instant success just like Dolphins were. There is also a massive Polynesian population in these areas.A mistake I think - they would do better at looking to the Pacific with PNG and NZ2
The big opportunity for AFL is not so much the west (which isn't to say that the Lions' presence in Springfield isn't a great long-term play) but in the south-west, in a sweeping arc from Yarrabilba through Jimboomba to Flagstone. This is a massive growth area, and it doesn't really appear to be on either the AFL or NRL's radar (as far as I can tell). This is the growth area that so many people forced "out" of Brisbane by house/rent prices are going into, and there is no one football loyalty.Western part of SEQ- Logan and Ipswich is a huge area of RL heartland that they take for granted. Always find it a bit funny that team names are effectively the manifestation of sponsors, yet that sponsorship money goes to waste in Australia, USA etc. despite good viewership. Among the French teams for example, French companies Decathlon and TotalEnergies have Australian operations and probably have some value ... but local insurance companies are meaningless to Australia. Always find it a bit strange that you don't get more sponsors with a global footprint.impressive results for the cycling .... the 2 pyrenees stages over the weekend were compelling viewing
First i've of that. The government has become an absolute lapdog for the NRL.
Now a deal is reportedly being done so that players for the proposed PNG team can earn tax free income.

Is there a link to it?
The greatest conflict of interest in Australian sport is albo's buckets of cash towards his mates in the nrl. I actually don't mind him outside of this, but it is super damaging to the afl him being in charge and v'landy's having his ear on literally everything he wants.
Another club in Queensland i think will be their next move.A mistake I think - they would do better at looking to the Pacific with PNG and NZ2

Putting aside the merits of sports diplomacy, rugby league has been a pretty constant, bipartisan part of relations with our Melanesian neighbours for the last few Prime Ministers:

Lets all agree that ALL SPORTS shouldn't rely on tax payers money for new grounds or stadium upgrades.a time will come when govt largesse is reigned in ..... what will the nrl do when that sugar hit dries up?
Lets all agree that ALL SPORTS shouldn't rely on tax payers money for new grounds or stadium upgrades.
If any sport wants a stadium upgrade that sport or sports that share that stadium should pay for it, and the same applys to new sports stadia as well.
