Who says Frost is best 22 for R 1.?
I think that the consensus view about Frost is that he is not an automatic best 22 but will be selected for games when he is needed. He is one of our best one on one lockdown defender and that may be necessary for Stringer if Hardwick plays forward. Some have suggested that Sicily take Stringer. That is fine in theory but Sicily is at his best when playing his own game rather than shutting down a specific forward. Stringer does need containing and Frost would be an option for Round 1. Bodie Ryan could be a better long term option for that kind of role.

From what I have read, Ryan looks like a lockdown player able to play on smalls and talls like Stratton. Do he might be able to play the tough defender on the regular matchups for Dimma. I don't expect that to happen overnight but that could be the plan.

Frost is fairly good on a smaller faster forward as well as tall

Baz had some good moments at half back and was even on a wing at one point in time. Bodie Ryan tackled Gunners on the far side of the ground and wouldn't let him get free. Both will be good for us over the years

With a stack of options across half back right now, that’s definitely a role I can see him playing in the near future.

Sorry, but if Frost plays any game - we will lose that game.

Others have made this point as well, but a comment like that coming from a so-called Hawthorn supporter is extremely disappointing.
We only won 7 games last year and Frost played in 4 of them. He missed a couple of winning games through injury.

Best you keep your false and underwhelming comments to yourself, sport.

It's a nice problem to have trying to fit 9 forwards into six. So many more goalscoring options, similar to the mosquito fleet Richmond fielded throughout their successful years.

I like the sounds of this forward set-up two talls with a abundance of smalls. The Forward line was horrible at times last season.
Hardwick,Ginny,Watson will all play smart footballers and skillful. This will alllow the likes off C-Mac & Moore further time up the ground. This will have a positive impact on the sides outside run in the middle working in sync with the bulls (Newk,Worp,Nash).

The Defence should be a weapon as well if we nail those defensive posts and the lockdown defender role. We will get the likes off Sicily,Weddle,Impey, Amon streaming off the half back line.

Apparently - to quote the super fund disclaimer….

“past performance is a not reliable indicator of future performance”?

This will be on the podium for worst take of 2024 on this site. 👍

Whilst he has one of the worst ever win loss ratios you can't blame him specifically for it. He's just had the misfortune of spending most of his career playing for three terrible teams going through rebuilds.
yeah this generally has nothing to do with the player's quality. for example, Will Day has the 20th-worst win percentage of all current players, and james jordon is the most winningest player in the AFL.

funnily enough Ben McKay has the worst ratio of current players at 12% haha

Not sure you can chalk it up to just misfortune. I can’t see that he would’ve played the amount of games he has had he stayed at GWS or Melbourne once they became more successful. A rebuilding team is about his level. That’s not a knock on the guy, he’s played an important role in the rebuild.

But that's the point really isn't it - when a team gets to a decent level of maturity he should be overtaken by players with better decision-making.
