Wow they've really gone out on a limb with these predictions.

Most of them have just taken the 2023 final ladder and shuffled teams ever so slightly.

As with every year, it should be "13 experts predict that the next season will be almost identical to the previous one".

As with every year, it should be "13 random people who are lucky enough to get paid for saying whatever thoughts pop into their heads predict that the next season will be almost identical to the previous one".
Slight ammendment...

6 average punters have us finishing bottom 4 and 7 average punters have us finishing higher.

Tune in folks next September to see which group of punters was correct!

Which genius tipped Sydney for the flag? That's bloody bold.

Every year, these “experts” pick the same sides to play finals again, and the premier to go B2B.

There’s no analysis, just recency bias.

I'd love to know the argument why they believe Geelong will finish top 8 other than "It's Geelong".

They didn't bring in players and all their major players are another step closer to an old age home.

Probably due to the lbgqxyz home ground factor . I personally think they will be closer to bottom 4 than top 8

That ground is a nightmare for oppo players due to being so narrow and long (the extra kick inside 50 just isn't practice for 1 appearance a year), and let's not forget the missing wing

They dropped a couple of games there this season, which is a bit of an indicator of where they're heading

I reckon we'll beat them there.

I reckon we'll beat them there.

If we are given licence to run and kick from 50, yes.
If we play the game so many teams play which is robotic and relies on kicking inside 50 from the wing, We lose.

The ground dimensions require gameplans to almost be thrown out the window

One expert / front bar drunk doesn't rate Carlton's resurgence.

Also not sure I mentioned this in the write up of Thursday's session - but I saw both Ward and Mackenzie pull off nice kicks with their opposites whilst on the move. It will be such an underrated skill and a huge plus for the side if we get multiple players that can do that (remember that brilliant piece of play from Newcombe vs the Doggies). I think Watson is decent on his other foot too.
With Sam Mitchell as the coach it will be mandatory!

Bailey Smith ACL :'(
