Dont mind the look of that, through the corridor with run and handball, as Danster said though in his training report that was the A team vs a VFL team so cant get too carried away, but at least it resembles something like I want to see

I'd like to thank the everyone on the Melbourne board who had a whinge about the media department today, seems they saw and immediately put out a new match sim video for us.

I'm not falling for this, they will be back to asking the players about Ariana Grande songs next week.

"And VFL round 1 is March 24, 2pm v Casey at Casey. And on Ch7"
Found this on the hawks page , meanwhile on our MFC page nada , nothing , its like the Casey Demons don't exist ATM .
No current list , no updates on who has departed and who has stayed . WTF is going on at the club ?

Love the little things Windsor does, thats why I think there is far more to him than just a Hunt who was dumb as dogshit, Windsor has game smarts... Receive the handball and give it back while laying a shepherd for the teammate running past on the wing (doesnt just take off blindly coz hes fast) rove the pack front and centre while giving the handball back to a teammate in a better spot and a back-pedalling shepherding , doesnt run around like a headless chook - very aware of space and where to go be dangerous and an option, doesnt get sucked into contests - plays in structure.
I think there's a reason why Windsor was a high pick and hunt was a pick in the 40s? Hunt had his moments but was never going to be more than okay

Plenty of guys taken in the first round coz they were fast and turned out to be busts. I just don't see that with Windsor.

Speaking about the club website, the club could have at least informed us we've changed leagues

To be fair Hunt is faster than Windsor and Hunt had a career year last year. Credit where credit is due.

Yeah I'm not having a go at Hunt, I said earlier that he had his moments but was only ever going to be an okay player. IMO he had a good period 16/17 and has played 137 games over 10 years which is pretty fair for a pick 57. Overall a reasonably good pick for 57 but not a diamond in the rough pick like a Rory Sloan at pick 46.

Hopefully Windsor's skills are far better than Hunt's which was atrocious at times. And although Hunt was quick, he ran himself into trouble so often then hacked a kick forward. Windsor already seems better at running patterns. Not sold on his skills yet, but until he plays at the senior level we won't know. Not many saw McVee getting to the level he is so quickly.

yeah agreed. McVee is a bloody jet. I think they should be playing Windsor at half back though. The wing in today's game is where people rot because teams are trying to go much more direct.

I certainly want us to run through the middle more, but unfortunately we don't have the players to hit targets forward. I felt our wings were underplayed last season. If Windsor can show he can break lines and hit targets, we will be using the wing a lot more I'd say. Not sure we need him running out of defence. We got Bowey, Riv, Gus, Salem doing that already. I think he needs to be an attacking weapon moving into the F50. What i liked from him during the intra club game was that he was usually there for that handball receive, even if he didn't get it, he was there. Shows an intent to move forward and attack. If he sharpens up his skills, then he could really be a weapon for us.

Exactly. I'd make it my mission to beat the guy I'm playing on and show I'm worth a spot.
100%, from the sounds of it they rotate between mixed teams / A&B teams etc too.

Yeh I’d definitely prefer to see Windsor coming off half back or playing as a mid than out on the wing.
Melbourne made a point of the
Wingers holding their width. There was an article on it last year and it was quite interesting how much Langdon and Hunter were on tram tracks up and down the wing.
From the looks and sounds of it we’re going to mix things up a bit through the middle. Windsor is suited to that with his mine breaking speed and movement. Whether he can impact sufficiently early on I don’t know. But can see him playing early on. Especially with Hunter possibly missing early on.
