Doing anything in stages will cost more money unless it is just a refurb rather than a re-build.Great chat with Fages.
1- The wings were the difference in the Grand Final J.Daicos, Sidebottom and Crisp were very good.
2- We need to improve our reaction time on field.
3- Multiple players came back in career best condition.
4- The game is getting quicker and quicker, not just offence, defence must come forward quicker.
5- Fages admitted he pulled the extra man back too early against the Demons during the season.
6- Tom Doedee back round 2-4, Will Ashcroft back mid season, Jack Payne's ankle is fine.
7- Zane Zakostelsky sore groin, Logan Morris going great, Luke Lloyd great footy nous, Reece Torrent sore groin as well.
8- Possible staggered rebuild of the Gabba ah la Geelong.
Yep, I thought the same thing, you would also think a staggered rebuild would mean no access from an underground development. ie. The original demolition/rebuild proposal was to raise the playing surface a couple of meters to provide for it.Doing anything in stages will cost more money unless it is just a refurb rather than a re-build.
Yes I'd love to go the Optus, love Perth but haven't been since the 80s.Anyone know when Round 1 tickets go on sale?
Was looking at heading over to watch a game at Optus for the first time.
Don’t really want to buy plane tickets until I know I can get tickets to the game.
You could do that in a staggered fashion, you just need to put ladders or something in for the switch for one wing to the other.Yep, I thought the same thing, you would also think a staggered rebuild would mean no access from an underground development. ie. Points 1-5 hit the nail on the head. Great to hear it acknowledged and, from what has been in the training reports, we're working on improving those areas substantially.Great chat with Fages.

About time fages recognised the biggest weakness of this list. Hopefully he can utilise the width more going forward and develop players to play out wide.
Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.Hardly surprising he has given year on year we've improved on our weaknesses with team defence being the area of thr game we greatly improved last year
A lot of the players you and others have mentioned are mixed race.God I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way. You make a good point about Kiddy, some players are not endurance athletes which started me thinking, First Nations players I've read always have some problem putting on muscle bulk. They are generally wiry, super quick off the mark, type players, the X factor a good team needs. Maybe Brad Hill is an exception to the long distance running type players amount the first Nations boys. Adam Goodes was certainly an exception for bulk in size and maybe Buddy Franklin over time. In general, a full blooded First Nations player has the wiry build, the excitement machines, Rioli, Cameron, the Crackers etc. Is is just my perception or is there a general 'type' of body size and shape the aboriginal boys have that is maybe about genetics.
Yes race is a spectrum, you only have to research your family tree to realise it, I did mine a few years ago both through historical records and sending away a DNA sample, Scandinavian, Italian and Scottish heritage are the strongest lines.A lot of the players you and others have mentioned are mixed race.
My sister did the same recently.Yes race is a spectrum, you only have to research your family tree to realise it, I did mine a few years ago both through historical records and sending away a DNA sample, Scandinavian, Italian and Scottish heritage are the strongest lines.
It has been pretty clear that since Clugga moved more inside and Mitch Robbo started to fall away that we have been searching for the right combination out on the wings.About time fages recognised the biggest weakness of this list. What you have mentioned there shows the lines of race, ethnicity and to a much lesser extent nationality can get blurred as well. All of the ethnicities that you mentioned from your DNA sample would be considered as part of the same race. Which also highlights among other reasons why the way we catogorise race is inherently flawed.Yes race is a spectrum, you only have to research your family tree to realise it, I did mine a few years ago both through historical records and sending away a DNA sample, Scandinavian, Italian and Scottish heritage are the strongest lines.
Wow 3 - 87.5% are you Hercules? My sister did the same recently.
87.5% Irish, Scottish & Scandinavian. Those dastardly reaving and raping Vikings.
12.5% Northern European, which we’re assuming is German, as dads family originally came from Germany in the 1800’s.
The origin of the phrase "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" dates back to the 16th century and it is attributed to John Fitzherbert, an English writer and politician.Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Nah - he is 0% on both Greek and Divine heritage.Wow 3 - 87.5% are you Hercules?
I think Fletcher has one wing locked in. He looks a natural out there. A full preseason to tighten some things up, with the confidence gained from last season, and he's taking a big step fwd. I agree that Berry is our best winger at the moment. He should get the first opportunity to stake a claim. Some clearer direction with new focus on the position would help everyone. I like seeing Clugg on the wing, he opens us up. If Dev can break thru and take more inside work or if Cam can spend more time in the middle as well, I'd be happy to see Clugg on the wing more. More wing support will come from Wilmot. He augmented his time on ground last year rotating thru the wing. Looked good doing it too. I still want him to be the best halfback he can be but I think if 35% of his time on ground is on the wing we'll be getting the best out of him. I think Kiddy could also rotate thru as well but maybe his fitness isn't up to it for longer periods. Another option I like is Dunkley out there too. He runs well, defensively minded in support, takes a good mark. Again that's up to Dev doing more of the grunt work inside. It has been pretty clear that since Clugga moved more inside and Mitch Robbo started to fall away that we have been searching for the right combination out on the wings.
Fletcher will go a way to solving one wing as he matures.
The other is still under question with Berry still our best winger.
The problem is that most of our options are inside players being pushed out rather than natural wingers.
They’re all mixed. Some very. Not only that, indigenous people pre whites weren’t homogenous anyway.A lot of the players you and others have mentioned are mixed race.
NFI what you’re on about.Wow 3 - 87.5% are you Hercules?
