A key takeaway for me is that TDK as a solo ruck is risky if gets a knock or beaten.

Throwing Harry into the ruck is great if he needs to get into the game, but last night he was on fire and throwing him into the ruck meant we lost our only key forward.

Leave Harry in the goal square and let Charlie run amuck across the half forward line to break any tags and kick his 50m passes.

I’m not Pitto’s biggest fan but his role as second ruck will be important as support/backup for TDK and not messing with Harry at full forward.

1995 flag year won 23 of 25, losses were to 2 bottom teams - ironically one was the Swans in Sydney by 12 goals!

It was their GF to hang in for the 8, they smelt complacency after 1/4 time, Weiters compromised, at home, the rest is history..

At least we battled it out, outside of Swans games all losses have been respectable.

Likely we don’t lose another game before finals.
I said that last line a week ago :'(

Think match committee gets a boot up the ass as hard as anybody. Leaving George on the sidelines with Cottrell and Cerra clearly underdone

Then Owies as sub? Why? It doesn't work

Briggs was a ruck that you play the Pittos+TDK combo against. Don't know why they didn't. Briggs needed to get bashed around a bit, instead we allowed him his best game of the year
Are you trying to get Arrow a free meal CM?

How do you know they got big headed? I highly doubt they rocked up just expecting to win
The article was about how supposedly "someone at Carlton" said Carlton have five future hall of famers in Cripps, Weitering, Curnow, McKay and Walsh. Robinson then went on to say Carlton have achieved nothing blah blah blah and tried to equate the supposed words of one individual and our performance to mean that we are big-headed. It's genuinely ludicrous

Well good - if there was any 'getting ahead of ourselves' that Bomber supporting nong has guaranteed it will stopped.

Not sure that we got big headed but believe we got complacent and lazy. To win a flag takes nothing less than 100% commitment. 5% off is all it takes to fall short and that’s what we did last night with not enough pressure and tackling in the middle two quarters. I’m sure we will learn the lesson.

It’s not that hard to believe. He is a very good footballer.
He's literally spent the last two years hardly able to hang onto a spot in the team. He WAS a good footballer. Game stank of the coaches deciding to spend a week focusing internally and not spending a minute to think about opposition players, setup or tactics.

Ours isnt a style that is easy to maintain and costs a lot of tickets. 5 straights win leads to this moment.

We have defensive weaknesses so when the side doesnt run kami kazi defensively and apply the right amount of pressure, they are open to shipping easy goals.

In finals we will maintain it. In the home and away season, we are open to being jaded and it isnt possible for us to do what we have been doing for an entire season.

The players will know the level and get us top 2 from here on in.

So far from what i have seen in the last 5-7 games, when they have flexed their muscle with 100% commitment they havent lost even when faced with another side trying 100%. They have lost when not giving 100% in the 2 away games (Sydney/GWS). I think the pressure gauge, 1% percenters, tackles, other key stats all show this.

We are right in it this year but just wont win every game. Our style is brutal.

A year ago -v- Swans we bottomed. A joker threw his scarf at the players on the ground and was escorted out by security. We were then competitive in everything until and including the Prelim.
Last night, I was sitting by the fence when who should appear, mouthing off and - wait for it - throwing his new season scarf at the players again but old mate. Again, security dealt with him.
Now is not the time to panic. Stick tight. #VossTheBoss.

Except Charlie wasn’t going to run amok at any stage of that game regardless if Harry was in the square or centre. He needs to lift, his last few weeks have been poor except for the 10 mins he decides to switch on.
