Todays midfield:
Darcy 10d 2 goals subbed
Young 30d 11 score inv 8 cl
2 goals
Serong 38d 11 score inv 600+mg
Brayshaw 31d 9 score inv

With Jackson and Fyfe as back ups and people aren’t calling us a top 5 midfield
gungho made a very fair and agreeable post from a Fremantle perspective. I'm going with him. And yes I've watched almost every Fremantle match so far.

You can have a top 5 midfield while only having one locked into the best 22 AA team.

Few times watching Jake Lever this year I've had flashbacks to 2021.
Going under the radar a bit, he's been unreal.

looking forward to Tom hawkins getting another well deserved all Australian jumper

Ageing like a fine wine wine just before it becomes vinegar .

That he lives so rent free in your head still after all these years, and your team is playing like someone pissed in its fuel tank and this is all you can think about is testament to how f**ked up your brain truly is and it’s glorious to see.

How do you get time to post here with your MENSA commitments taking up so much of your time

As much as I hate to admit it, Jake Waterman deserves to be in at this point. Having a crazy good year.

McGrath Weitering Stewart
Daicos Taylor Whitfield
Merrett Cripps Gulden
Heeney McKay Cameron
Waterman Hogan Rankine

Gawn Serong Rozee

Z Guthrie Fritsch Curnow Bont

Am I missing something with Rankine this season? Was outstanding last week yes but AA year? That small forward is a lottery though.

Edit: Okay maybe he is looking at stats not its a poor year for small forwards

i can't really argue with any of this

How close is Nic Martin? Squad of 40?

Borderline for the squad I'd say.

I don't think you can justify him ahead of either Blakey or Holmes as rebounding defenders with them being in the coaches votes significantly more often. And you'd have McGrath ahead of him from Essendon at the moment. Unless the Bombers have a great year it's unlikely they'll get multiple defenders in the team.

Stewart can't be picked on performance. Not even close to the squad currently.

Miers, Holmes and Cameron would be in the squad from Geelong currently. Zach Guthrie has had a better year than Stewart and he's not going to make the squad currently.

Don't see how he isn't in the squad. Without Martin how many games have they won? He's had a better year than Daicos who everyone has in their side/squad. Blakey is a certain selection, but they generally pick a few rebounders. If he isn't in the squad questions should be asked. Was unlucky last year doubt we see that again, can see Holmes missing actually.

Stewart has had a brilliant year he's victim to his other above outstanding years. This year has been fantastic, and yes the previous selections do help him that's just relaistic.

Holmes has received coaches votes 5 times this year and I thought he was clearly Geelong's best on the weekend against Melbourne.

On the "you have to have a really good year before getting picked" principle Martin might get the nod but purely on performance this year Holmes should be in front.

He was comfortably in before his concussion but that's now 3 weeks in a row where he essentially missed 2 and then was average in his return game. So he'd need a strong few weeks to get back in. There's no way Zuthrie was better than Stewart before the concussion, but Zach has really shone since then (AA squad at best though, not the 22).

A good game on Saturday and he would have been.
But with his missed 1.5 games and a quiet game on Saturday I don’t think you could have him. His other 5.5 games I agree he has been outstanding

Look I wouldn't be against them picking all of them and leaving out a key- blind freddy can tell you the key posts are between 3 players, we don't need 5 of them in the squad surely. I like Holmes actually one of the Cats players I really like watching anyway.

Probably can't miss too many more/have too many more poor ones but he's still in the side just. I'd rather pick Stewart in that position.

Stewart had been outstanding every game he has played. His first 3-4 weeks he was as good as I’ve seen him.
