Long time lurker, new poster. I’m on paternity leave got some more spare time devoting to SC whilst not looking after the kids… The contributions here (good and bad) helped shaped my team so thought I can give back a little…

Think I’m going to settle for:
Grundy down to Xerri + Sexton to Powell

My logic: 1.Grundy is cooked and after surprising Gawn round 1 those tactics now getting found out.
2. Most of top 100 currently rolling the Gawndy combo so brings in a POD who can at least match, and, with a bit of luck, could outscore moving forward.
3. I don’t think Grundy’s price increase will be as steep as quick as we would want. Presume BE is relatively high too with that 70 against him.
4. Im still bitter that he and his management manipulated Collingwood to earn that huge contract only for him to go from elite ruck to below average. Grifter. You can’t have players you fundamentally dislike in your team, right?
5. Won’t lose “premo” scorer during the swans bye round, so getting in early on that.
6. Thought Sexton would be better than averaging 60-odd. 3 week sample size good enough for me to see him depart my team and being able to bring in someone averaging 112 who could well be F6 worthy at years end with DPP likely and only burning one trade is a risk worth taking!
8. Powell is what a 4th year player now so you would think this improvement is genuine…

Also toyed with the idea of trading Rowell to try and maintain additional premo scoring rather than seeing him sitting on the bench with Tom Green. But hopefully Naicos and Lyons (absent last week) can replicate the formers R2 scoring. Bypassing on Flanders so far also lessons this as many of the top teams have 3 premos out this week.

Could also sideways Clark to Sharp or Campbell to Dempsey with a boost but think will hold off. Good thing is Richmond and Cats play later in the round so could sit back to see how other cash cows perform before pulling that trigger.

I’m not sure that’s how paternity leave is supposed to work.

2 x 80s and he goes up 100K, at worst he's a path to a fallen premo. At best he's a keeper.

He ticks a lot of boxes. Junior scorer, highly rated but injury plagued last few yrs. Has his body right now full PS. Played inside mid right through PS and was on the radar heavily until the Simpkin concussion threw doubt over his role. North playing a very tight CBA rotation so he'll get mega CBAs.

Plus ...a new Coach that believes in Powell ....obviously suits the gameplan Clarko wants to play

Additionally, Powell is at that 50 game mark, when it all starts to click, with the aid of a full PS

Only got 50 in the pre-season game against St Kilda with 85% TOG. May not like it hard?

Kinda hoping Clark gets dropped or managed, really want Carroll and he's the only way to make the trade happen.

Can't justify the trade with Clark's current role if he's named.

Don't think you can take too much out of that pre-season game as Powell started that game in the middle but got shifted FWD once Simpkin was knocked out and Phillips came on to replace him.

Maybe, hope you're right. But Simpkin was on the ball so Powell couldn't hold either position. NM eased Simpkin back last week so may have more CBAs this week at Powell's expense. Just saying, not all beer and skittles.

yeah i never bought Sanders. I drew a line in the sand for expensive rooks and worked alright. BUTTTT the time has come.
Sharp more mature and what i've seen i like. Nice saving as well for this time of year. 60k is good money right now.
Favoring Sharp coz looking to add a primo next week....so i'm taking out the trash this week for cash gen and pocketing.
