Trades 2024 Round 3 Trades

what are they?
Basically Carroll, Dempsey, Massimo, Powell are the main ones (also want Serong). I got Young and Dawson who look like issues, and the likes of Bonner, S Berry that could go, along with obv Gibcus and Reid. Windsor, Hore and Clark look like potential sub candidates moving forward also.

As someone who started Jackson, whats the reason people are bringing him in now for? Missed the 178 and Shrek to come back soon? Still just for the points before he comes back?

This is more a R2 trade option, but I just got screwed with my defense, by deciding against boosting for Mass with Daicos, Young and Hore spudding, and already having only 5 playing defenders with Gibcus, Williams and Reid. Legit thinking of risking Gibcus up to Bramble with a boost (I have like 3k cash to spare to do that) in the chance his role is legit plus getting me an extra score. Of course logically I should either just grab Coffield or save the boost and not trade. But I already feel like I have 4 trades I wanna do next week.

Which option is best?

Cant comment on Bramble as didnt watch him last week. Id say follow your gut but don't be afraid to be aggressive. Lots of trades left. I wouldn't boost for coffield.

Regarding Jackson I think its to ride the cash wave from his 178 and comments from fyfe that shrek is 5-6 weeks away. If that's the case Jackson provides great bye cover. I think he'll score 100+ even with Darcy in.

Ah, missed the Fyfe comment.

I had no intention of boosting for Coffield, but with Young looking like a shit pick who will leak cash along with Hore potentially back on the outer and Gibcus and Reid to deal with still, has my defense in the shitter atm and in needing of some proper surgery, and I don't want to use more than one trade next week in defense with other targets. I could possibly keep Young another week and watch him leak cash I guess.

Amazing how many are trading out Young. 2nd most CBA for freo... the role is there.

Way more pressing issues then moving him on.
Problem isn't necessarily role, it's that it looks like he has the same issues Dawson has, except multiplied by 3. It's that it's very different being clean and having space to use your skills off of HB, vs under constant pressure in midfield where your decision making has to speed up significantly. He's the clanger king of the AFL right now. You are prob right that he should be a hold for more data, but I think like Dawson (and possibly even Naicos), he might actually be better off moving back to defense in order to actually become an effective player again. Which would obv not be why we picked him to start with though his scoring there isn't the end of the world.

Hogan > Powell
Young > Sheezel or NWM

Not sure I'll use a 3rd trade or not. Depends if Libba or Wines spud it up again.

Might even consider Grundy > Steele via Jackson & Reid DPP.

Tsatas > Powell
Howes > Massimo

Aye, slaughtering Howes as veal rather than the Angus beef folks are gonna get for him later is a great shame. But he's going to go up just enough this week to allow me to get Massimo AND upgrade Tsatas to Powell, and that overall makes my starting 22 look too good to resist. I still have a heap of nice rooks and Howes has a bye coming up so yeah, laters Howes.

Massimo's my D6 and Sexton's my only forward cheapie. McKercher, Roberts and Sharp all getting it done well enough to be field-worthy in the mids.

5 trades and 1 boost down, hopefully no trades for a couple of weeks

Seems overly emotional. Martin 31 possessions. 93 points. Finding the ball. It will turn.

Few Essendon fans on twitter aren't happy with Martin's role. I know that doesn't mean much but bloody hell he's a tough watch. Him playing 96% TOG is nice though.

With the cash he is tying up, could convert to three players who are flying. Simple as that.

Trading Howes is the most crazy idea I’ve seen in these parts for some time. Even Judd_Magic and kyri wouldn’t do that. One of the few consistent cash cows we have. AND he’s a defender.

Big watch on Bramble tomorrow. Had a terrific role last week. Better option than Massimo if that continues tomorrow.

I saw that last week but Bevo could do anything and I'm not touching any Bulldogs players apart from Bont

He is a very tough watch. Last year he was a stand out amongst an average side, this year with their young kids back (Perkins, Cox etc) and their new recruits, he looks to be much less impactful than last year.
The TOG is what made me hold trading him last week, I might do it this week though to grab hold of Serong who was in my team all of pre season until I cash grabbed for... Martin

After playing it conservative with only 1 trade leading into this weekend, it will likely be a boost into rd-3:

Young > Sheezel/Ryan/Houston
Gibcus > Mass/Bramble
Lazzaro > Dempsey/Sharp

Also, while he was half-decent yesterday, no-one should be relying on Pink definitely playing next week. Unsure there is a match-up for him vs Carlton. We may prefer Comben instead, while Dawson is clearly ahead of Pink in the pecking order.

Who would you guys prioritise bringing in this week?

Mannagh
Sharp
Dempsey
McKercher
D’Ambrosio

Powell
Wanganeen-Milera
Steele
Jackson

For the same reason a lot traded out Fisher, you dont pick sh** footballers

Trust me on this, he made me turn grey for years
And then Fisher tonned up. I don’t care if they’re shit footballers scoring well.

I reckon pink played well. He is clearly a better defender than comben. Comben maybe intercept marks better.
I'd prefer pink
