Interesting that Hayes was in the ruck for the first half, taking centre bounces with Campbell doing it up forward. Second half Hayes is forward. His second efforts, spoils, follow ups, handballs into someone in space from a contest have been a step up above the VFL. He's kicked three, his ruck work has been pretty good and he's also created a few goals for others. He's ready to give Marshall a hand I reckon.

How good is arie

He looks so much more comfortable now and his kicking is going to relieve so much pressure off our defence when he gets comfortable at AFL level. Allows Sinclair to be used higher up the ground. Will make a massive difference.

I also think he'll be great as a second defender maybe wt cordy, as he grows into his body watch out.

You forget how good a footballer Jack Hayes is. At 28 he could still have some good AFL footy ahead. Hayes and King could become a really dangerous pair.

Jones too good for VFL but disappointing at AFL level
Dow did some good things but his kicking is average
Hastie is going to be a very good player.
Ari building nicely. A debut is not far away
Keeler can be a very good defender. Good position for him
Allison played a nearly game. I think it's worth perservering with him.
Collard is a very smart footballer. Like him a lot
Cambell also too good for VFL. He'll probably come in for this week to give Roma a rest

Allison is a very very interesting player. His body shape is what we have been so desperately in need of. Solid. Almost a Crows/Geelong player build. Can he footy? Or learn to footy to an AFL level? Going to be interesting watching him over the next couple of months to see which sliding door he takes.

He was an absolute superstar at SANFL level. Played across just about every position.

Realistically Jones and Dow are needed especially if Steele is knocked around.

Keeler extremely impressed bar a couple of average kicks. He’s improved immensely. Was involved all game. He could almost be ready.

Jones did everything he could to get back in. Didn’t sook or get undisciplined. Thought he was BOG.

Ari, Hastie not far off now. Ari’s leg is outrageous. Angus was involved all day. Good effort after last night playing a qtr of AFL in another state.

Hayes ready for a crack. Should have kicked 5 and was really involved. Looked really good. Bring him in.

Dow rusty but got through pretty well. Kicking was very rusty. 20 odd.

Bit disapointed in Collard. Huge opportunity with Butler and Higgins out. Wanted more from him. Hardly touched it for 3 qtrs. Can see the class though.

Campbell could step in at any moment and be competitive. Too good for VFL.

McClennen looks really solid. Just a couple of mistakes. He’s a very good mark for his size.

Allison looked ok for a while but just disappears. Ok game.

Irish was ok. Obviously a while off but shows a bit.

Paton made a good return. Still not damaging though. Very safe footballer.

Opposition rubbish, so take from it what you like. Thought we were pretty good. Nice to see a game at Sandy without a gale blowing.
