Fremantle Dockers training notes: Sean Darcy, Nathan O’Driscoll, Michael Walters, Ethan Stanley and more

Fremantle hit the track in the rain at Cockburn on Thursday with Port Adelaide in their sights in a bumper final round.
Here is what we saw.
Ruck and stroll
Sean Darcy appears unlikely to face Port Adelaide on Sunday after labouring through the Dockers’ session on Thursday.
The ruckman headed straight out to the far side of the ground, where he did some run-throughs with fellow rehab group member Alex Pearce.

He later joined the main part of the session, but sat out some drills and was visibly limping his way through others.
Darcy then played on the second-choice team in a match simulation drill, while Liam Reidy rucked to the preferred midfield.

Justin Longmuir had said at a morning press conference Darcy needed to get through training to be any chance of facing Port.
Bit of Drizzle
Nathan O’Driscoll was used as a substitute and provided a promising burst as a centre-bounce midfielder in the final quarter against GWS.
But he was back wearing a bib on Thursday in a sign he could head back to Peel Thunder.

Longmuir didn’t get carried away when asked about O’Driscoll and said “our midfield is pretty settled”.
Michael Walters split his time between the AFL and the WAFL group. But that didn’t stop Brandon Walker taking the chance to check out his pipes.

Big wait for Mac
Oscar McDonald appears set to be nursed through Peel Thunder’s finals campaign.
The defender, who played for the Dockers in round one but sat out the rest of the season injured, took it very easy at training after playing more minutes than first intended for the Thunder on Saturday.

He spent most of the session in a tracksuit top before joining WAFL teammates for a light run later on.
McDonald is set for at least at least “a couple more” runs in the twos, according to his coach.
Man down
Wingman Ethan Stanley has suffered a late-season injury setback.
The second-year Docker, who has not played a senior game this season, limped off the track in the hands of trainers late in Thursday’s session and reemerged with ice on his right ankle.
Stanley missed a large chunk of the start of the season with an ankle injury. He did not play WAFL between rounds four and 11.
