So the Club currently provides a whole suite of management advice and other supporting infrastructure to the DFC at this time free of charge. When the DFC is financially viable & able to afford it the DFC will be charged a reasonable amount (cost?) as independently determined.

Gee what a scandal - groundbreaking journalism from the Hun! Pathetic!

It is a pathetic beat up of a story. Embarrassing really.

Every organisation would be paying rent security costs. Facility costs etc.

No one gets these for free. Just like those who work at the DFC get paid a wage.

But shock horror. Stkilda wants to be paid costs once the DFC is operating profitably 😮

What else would we expect from a total sh1t rag headed up by slobbo the Saints hating drunken bogan. ####!
Ironic that the mumbling alcoholic gets to tell us what's right and what's not 😂

this DFC "scandal" is the type of thng we need to cause a stir about .. the fact the story is blocked behind a paywall is even worse as the average person will read the headline and form an opinion of the situation that will be extremely negative ...
i think every St Kilda person needs to get on this and post the clubs statement so it is clear for all to see that this story is little more then a hatchet job on our club

Standard practice for them really - in the race for an "exclusive" they sensationalise and pander to the bottom of the barrel.

There.. isnt actually a story here at all. Like, the only thing that actually happened was Corben leaving for undisclosed reasons after the agreed change and "nameless sources" having an issue with a pre agreed handover of funds when the organisation became self sufficent.

Like, its not even stated that Corben left for any reason related to the funding change and may have been completely unrelated and/or personal reasons.

Its completely manufactured outrage to stock standard operating proedures for all charities.

People don't realise how inefficient charities are. They are an industry that provides jobs but it would be much more cost effective to give directly or pay money to the government to administer. Not picking on the Elephant Shooer because they are all the same but this below shows how they operate. Same with Save the Children, WWF and all the others.

To add, "awareness" based charities are the worst for this. If they arent sending money for actual research or treatment programs then its basically a huge legal "scam". Even the better ones that have direct impacts are generally using cents on the dollar for the actual charitable portion and the remainder is used up by administration costs.

I'm a St Kilda person, older and perhaps politically incorrect.

I personally don't think our club should have any mental health facility at our home base. Locate it elsewhere. Footy focus only please.

I think it's only of benefit to our on-field success and we're ahead of the curve for once in having it.

Just look at what Tim went through recently, having services to support him and other players so conveniently accessible is a good thing.

All businesses are now required to provide a facility for employee MH issues, so it's par for the course now days. It's usually outsourced to an EAP.

The naming of the DFC and promotion of a MH facility within is to honer Spud's legacy. That was his passion and it's a good one to get behind. The fact it sits next door to the footy club is neither here nor there. It's an independent entity.

Are you sure that's correct?

I respect these views.

For me personally however, Moorabbin was a place in part
TO ESCAPE personal, family and professional mental health battles, even tragedies.

I went there perhaps 150 times between the 1960's and 1992.
It was an almost spiritual oasis of a place for me, even during the dark days of the 1980's.

Yes I admit it. The current set up at Moorabbin triggers me.

I will leave this issue now and perhaps seek therapy elsewhere?

Go Saints!
