you know what im sick of? Having an 18 year (19 next season) jet stuck at half back because he can hit a target. I want that jet doing damage up the ground. You saw 5 or 6 bounces from the back pocket.. i wanna see that through the middle with a shot on goal.

Is pick 25 going to release that? **** NO. Caleb Daniel will.
🤣 Now, this is the Duck we all like!

the deal we at least should have done if we were going through with the stupidity of losing 25 for daniel is the saints pick swap with lions
they used 27 we could have used 25
Pick swap: St Kilda trade pick 27 to Brisbane for #32 & #45

then could have traded 32 for daniel
and held 45
Sure. Other options could have been GWS 37 and 53/56. Bombres 31 and 40/46 potentially.
But whether the Dogs would have actually accepted a pick in the 30's for a contracted Daniel, I doubt that.
They already had pick 35, so would another 31/32/37 mean all that much to them?

So the port Adelaide footy manger said Houston didn't want to go to North, this morning his manger Paul Connors said he would have gone to North and they didn't have the best offer.
Me believe the footy manager, Connors is a big shot who thinks he runs the draft week and would blacklist clubs if he didn't get what his player was wanting

Twomey said our offer was 13 (off GC) and 44. So that is worse if true than 13, 29, Joe Richards, Rory Atkins.

Connors does run the draft. I’m not a fan, but he runs the show. Way too much power.

But it does give some context that giving up this pick is not giving up a certain gun, it’s giving up the CHANCE to pick up a gun.

And as the history of pick 25 shows, and I assume if you looked at most of the pick selections in round 2 and 3 would be the same, it’s bloody hard to pick good players outside the first round. No club nails it consistently.

Inverse argument also applies.

Just because a player was a level at their previous club, doesn’t guarantee you that player coming here, particularly stepping into a bottom 4 club.

We have countless of examples.

It’s not failsafe either

Is it worse than our future first? Wasn’t that on the table for poorta? Anyway it doesn’t matter, im happy with our retirement village of leadership
I haven't actually listened to it, just going off what Giantroo posted earlier. Our F1 gets us GC 13 and 23/29?
Apparently 13 and 44 was our offer to Port for Houston, where Pies had the 29 included with Richards.

They wanted a pick in this years draft, Personally I would have taken our future first and death rode it.. im a sucker for a death ride

What do we have a fair bit of? Young talent born between 2002-2005.

What don't we have a fair bit of? Senior heads to guide, calm, support that young talent (and our older talent, come to think of it) and play some ok footy while they're at it.

It's not failsafe, but at least it's a shot at addressing a lethal deficiency that all in Sunbury can see is crippling the club

Herald Sun's take on our trades.

IN: Jack Darling (West Coast), Caleb Daniel (Western Bulldogs), Luke Parker (Sydney), Jacob Konstanty (Sydney)
OUT: Nil
2024 PICKS: 2, 62
2025 PICKS: No change
Brady Rawlings started the trade period wanting four players and he got four players, just not the best one he wanted. Dan Houston is missing from North Melbourne’s plans, with Jacob Konstanty thrown in late. The Roos didn’t want to dip too far into their draft hand – they put a full hand in like a kid reaching into a showbag. Now they surely have to split pick two and gain a better footprint. How does Jack Darling help? Luke Parker has been brought in for experience, Caleb Daniel couldn’t make it work this year at the Dogs and Konstanty was about to be cut. It may be harsh but these moves on their own don’t make the Roos much better and now they don’t have much draft capital left.
RATING: 3.5/10

Ah the fiction newspaper. What would they know?

So it’s the young players letting the side down from inexperience with the senior players guiding and leading the way?

I expect that was reflected in the Syd with all of LMAC, Simpkin, Corr, Tucker, Zurhaar, Larkey dominating?

Our main issues are our senior players for the most part aren’t good footballers. Luke Parker won’t change that conundrum.

In fact our best 6-7 players this season were pretty much all 24 or under.

How much more are we expecting them to carry this side?
