Comben was our first pick in 2019.This would the ninth draft in a row where we have used our first pick on a mid. Ninth!
Jy Simpkin is now 26. We haven't used our first pick on a tall since he has been at the club. How far beyond ridiculous do you think we should take it? If there aren't players we need in our range, just move the pick, like every other team does. Ironically, we actually had a pick this year perfectly positioned to take a tall, of course we traded it for the smallest bloke in the league.
now?Maybe NOW
25min to gonow?
Am I correct in thinking we used two picks (first rounds) on 2 tall KP last year?
One on a half back, one on a marking Forward and one on a top 3 mid/winger.
So then you add Wardlaw, Sheezel.
Lost JHF and TT.
Powell, Phillips.
Have we really gone hard on mids?

Will is on a one year extension.Yes. Unless you ignore our first two picks in every recent draft.
Na. We traded our first pick in 2019 into 2020 and used it on Powell.Comben was our first pick in 2019.
TT started as a forward but became a mid and Sheezel will be one too - but not a pure one coz we want him everywhere.TT spent more time forward than in the middle.
Sheezel will spend more time as a HHF/HF with freedom to go where needed imo. That make does him an extra mid at times.
FOS would be great on a wing or at half-back, but does taking him improve us as much as filling the gaping holes we have with quality tall and small forwards? We can't keep kicking this can down the road.If we go FOS, he will be able to play any third of the ground. He wouldn't be locked into being an inside mid. He would add a lot of class.
Agree with the bold. Still haven't got over that.
Not entirely true as they could be waiting for a crazy deal for 6,10 or 11.Logically speaking, there won’t be a deal with Richmond, if there hasn’t been one already. I can understand why some clubs wait for the draft night to do their pick trades, as they want to see who is still available and how the draft pans out. But given we are talking about pick [emoji638] here, there is nothing for Richmond to wait on. They know who they will be taking with pick [emoji637], and if they really wanted pick [emoji638] they would have already done the deal

They could also be waiting for us to buckle and accept unders
Or they want it but aren’t offering enough
And come draft night they may pony up more
Their confidence that we need to trade 2 for multiple picks. But what changes between now and draft night?

Sometimes the pay off just exceeds the expectation.Thrilling
Am i hallucinating, somehow we go from pick #2 to pick #28 and #31, and help * into the bargain ?

Jeepers muttley45, if that doesn’t clear things up for you I don’t know if anything ever will.Have a coffee...it can be difficult to keep up, but not that difficult. Basically it's #2 (2024) + 2025 (R3) into 28,31 (2024) + 2xF1 (~#'s 4&8 in 2025), Essington pay a fortune to move up and take a bloke who might help them into 15th spot, delivering us 2024 R2's(28+31) + 2025 Pick 4 & Pick 8 to to go alongside our own likely Pick #2. Instead of Trading #2 this year for a few ciggies left in the ashtray of Melbourne or Richmond in an even draft year, we have 28,31 &~55 this year, picks which should deliver us 3 of Hannaford, Gerryn, Benny Barratt, Barrat, Sims etc and 3x likely Top 10 for better top end of next years draft.
I would guarantee they are waiting for our move, if it doesn't come, they don't want to be left holding their dicks while we build a midfield that will take 3 more years for them of multitudes of ineptness to just match forget better.
Their desperation to get the 2 best kids, they’ll get more inside info between now and thenBut what changes between now and draft night?
