Reading the new article on afl.com - I’m sure has Twomey’s input has Collingwood now the front runners for Houston.

Getting 13 from GC in the deal for Noble and F1

Then 13, Richards to Port for Houston

13 and F1 gets the deal done with Kossie I would have thought.

The big issue for Port is continuing to trade away first round picks, not sure if AFL will tick this off.
They will because it was for JHF.

They’ll need the F1 for Luko

Said it earlier but this minimum amount of first round picks thing is not hard to get around the way the draft is currently. Pick 30 is a first round pick at the current rate of play.
Not difficult for any club to trade into the late twenties on draft night and get a first round pick with pick 28 or so.

We did it ourselves in 2020 for Nathan o Driscoll at pick 28 for example.

I think it was pick 31 and a F3 to get up to pick 28 and select him.

That would be a first round pick in this draft.

I think they'll be ok given the age of players they have targeted.

But it will be tight getting Luko and Pickett I would have though. Even if Houston leaves.
Also why are they offering 4 years to Joe Richards and going after Pickett? Makes no sense really. They had Rioli going well as small forward.

If Pickett is playing for anyone other than Melbourne or Freo next year it’s a ****ing disaster. We have the currency to get this done. I can’t see us being outbid. So if he ends up at Port the only conclusion is the people running our club are ****ing morons.
Or..... he wanted to go to Port.

There isn't much we can do if he nominated another club. It's not a failure.

Que the melts lol.

Or… maybe it’s always been about the Chad for 25. We simply don’t know, its a credit to our recruitment dept that they have given absolutely zero away in the lead up, professionalism through and through.

Hilarious reading the panicked rage posts in here.

Houston is worth more than Pickett IMO. One of the very best league wide in his position.
I must rate Houston very differently to you then.

I also think that the respective ages of both players make a huge change to the value of each player. ~ 5-6 years left in Houston's career and 10 in Pickett's.
