Paddy Dow 2.0I wonder who Carlton are eyeing off at 3...
And we risk pissing off Bolton.
The only thing wrong with that IMO is downgrading pick three.Be interesting if they flip 14 for Baker and then take Bo Allan at 12.
They’ll implode on the Eagles board
They downgraded pick 2 for 2 picks and got Ginby and Hewitt. Could have had Sheezel. I know who I would ratherThe only thing wrong with that IMO is downgrading pick three.
Their future midfielders other than Reid and an always injured Hewitt look average at best.
Finn O’Sullivan apparently, so he can play with his cousin lolI wonder who Carlton are eyeing off at 3...
Very few players maintain their peak consistently for 6 -7 years. That is what you are hoping for if you think we will get 4 years peak Bolton. It is more likely that his peak is past. I posted on this earlier in this thread, only 3 payers older than 26 have wone the AFLCA, the last was Simon Goodwin in 2006. Bolton turns 26 in December. I'm just trying to be realistic. Why is it not likely? He broke out in 2022/23 and it would be reasonable to expect he returns to that form and even improves on that.
cherry picking one award to highlight your point isnt actually that convincing, and i also just dont think thats true at allVery few players maintain their peak consistently for 6 -7 years. I could give a **** about the AFLCA.. That doesn't do anything for Freo..Very few players maintain their peak consistently for 6 -7 years. What awards wouold you sggest I use, and, if you have the time, what do they show?cherry picking one award to highlight your point isnt actually that convincing, and i also just dont think thats true at all
We don’t need the best player in the game. We need a game changer. Someone who makes goals out of not much. Someone who can pinch hit in the middle and change the mix. He is a puzzle piece that we don’t have.Very few players maintain their peak consistently for 6 -7 years. That is what you are hoping for if you think we will get 4 years peak Bolton. Bolton is 25. How can he be on the decline already considering he is 100% fit?
2 new draftee's could be injured the whole time too and never make it.
id probably suggest the all australian teams if were going down that route or just have a general look at who are the best players in teh game across the years. plenty are in that age rangeWhat awards wouold you sggest I use, and, if you have the time, what do they show?
Finn O’Sullivan - Cousin of Walsh apparentlyI wonder who Carlton are eyeing off at 3...
I haven't said anywhere that we don't need Bolton. I think he's perfect for us. I'm simply discussing what we pay and more recently responding to someone who disagreed with my suggestion that it was unlikely that we would get 4 years of Bolton at his best. We might, we might not. it sounds to me that too many people are willing to pay a price as if his peak for 4 years was guaranteed. They sound like they have never followed what happens to other players' careers post-trade. Some excel, some don't. Many fall well below their previous trajectory. We don’t need the best player in the game. We need a game changer. Someone who makes goals out of not much. Then Richmond take Berry with pick 10.I hope this is just a big game of chicken and if we hold firm, the Tigs will cave for picks 10 and 18 just before the buzzer. I do really, really want us to keep 11 to draft Berry.
Good, I want Bolton but it must not extinguish the win win position Freo have developed for themselvesListening to Brierty this morning I can't see us budging and it is pretty much a take it or leave it situation for Richmond.
Of course that's true, but it's a complex metric. And 'general looks' are valid but I was trying to avoid generalities.id probably suggest the all australian teams if were going down that route or just have a general look at who are the best players in teh game across the years. plenty are in that age range
"Was" eh...very cryptic....so the deal is off?Something was coming back our way.
