That campaigner is someone you take an instant dislike to to save time

On Twitter when he was crapping on about losing Cerra - it was pointed out by a fine young man that Cerra actually had 2 years left on his contract.

Gossage deleted his post and then blocked me and the other guy who pointed it out.

That's some super softcockery right there.

That's a pretty outdated thought process. It's the small forwards that create pressure, repeated entries and have repeatedly been identified as the biggest indicators of success in big finals. The small forwards make the most out of good clearance work.

Outside mids, so far, we've done a pretty good job of covering. We could do with better but we're capable without an upgrade on Sharp. We really, desperately need goal kicking small forwards.
Outside mids are crap. Our delivery inside 50 is shocking and has been for years. They keep going for average players to fill gaps rather than going for a quality outside mid. You can easily get by with lesser small forwards and use midfielders rotating there which is what we should do, not small forwards who give bursts in the mid.

He made his bed (signed 5 yr contract) now he lies in it. It's a lesson for all players...dont go after big contracts.

Too often players rule the roost at clubs. Time clubs got some of the power back.
Who do you think benefits from (and encourages) players to break these contracts? Clubs. Clubs also use long contracts to entice players to sign with them and stop them leaving to other...you guessed it ... clubs.

Don't give silly sob stories about "clubs not having enough power". They got plenty. Port can't complain about Houston choosing the club, after they got JHF after he nominated them.

Regardless everyone knows that players still have enough leverage to walk out on contracts, so it's as much the clubs making their own beds to lie in (or in reality employees making it for fans to lie in).

Carnthedockers have you heard anything about Corey Warner being involved in a trade with his brother next year?
I was told both Corey and Chad would see out their contracts then come home. Both wanted to be in WA. I’m happy to share this, because it was from a completely different sauce. We’ve known since the start of this year Chad was gettable when his contract was up.

Would you hypothetically say 60% freo, wce 40% chance?

In my humble opinion, our offer of 10 & 18 is on the mark for Bolton. If, as reported, Richmond want 10 and 11 and the deadlock can't be broken, then both clubs should be open to flipping a wider range of picks to facilitate the trade. The value discrepancy between picks 10 or 11 and pick 18 in this particular draft appears to be significant, so Richmond should come to the party. Freo should look to target pick 14 whilst retaining pick 18 at all costs.

Freo Out: 10, 11, 30, F3/F4
Richmond Out: Bolton, 14

In exchange for the upgrade from pick 18 to pick 11, Freo would also chuck in 30 (R2) and a F3 or F4 to buy pick 14. This leaves Freo with two R1's and a R4 to take to the 2024 draft, and our F1 and F2 intact. Having pick 14 would hopefully keep us in a similar talent bracket to pick 11.

Freo In: Bolton.
Freo 2024 Draft Hand: 14, 18, 67

Richmond 2024 Draft Hand: 1, 10, 11, 20 (+ picks 6 and 23 for Rioli and 30)

I’d be guessing. But When you join the dots, with his friendships, and the fact that wc list is a mess, my money would be on us. He would want to compete for flags.
I'd love to know who it was that outed you/your source. And pay them a little visit.

A lot may depend on how we perform next season. No one at his level are going to leave a contending team to go to a rebuilding club. He’s been part of the bright lights & you stroke his ego & tell him he is the missing link, we just need to look like we’re close.

Unless we win it next year & he can do what he likes because I’ll still be pissed come next years trade week.

Thanks for the insight. I wonder if he wants to play with his brother or if he doesn't care. Can't see how we can accommodate both.

Last time WC and Carlton did a trade involving pick 3 Chris Judd and Josh Kennedy were involved. Now Matt Owies and Liummmm Baker. Times have changed that's for sure.
