Saints massively overpaying for a 30 year old with a terrible injury history.
Fremantle massively underpaying for Pickett.
Melbourne set-up with draft picks to load up in a very strong draft and they clear all their salary cap problems.
Everyone wins except one club, who has to trade-away their future in a lop sided deal for a guy that may not play for much longer and who only wants to play for a big club.

You’d want pick [emoji6
] and an early second back for taking on Petracca’s ridiculous contract and his injury history. Cooney has Higgins as the steak knives in the deal. Higgins is an elite small forward.
Only have a sample size of 20 games, but amongst the 43 ruckmen to average 20+ hitouts over the last 6 years he is:
#1 in hitouts to advantage % (Soldo #14)
#2 for hitout win % (Sandilands #1, Soldo #11)
#2 for contested marks (Gawn #1, Soldo #29)
#2 for metres gained (Marshall #1, Soldo #34)
#6 for contested offensive one on one win % (Marshall #16, Soldo #31)
also #1 for hamstrings pulled whilst running onto the field
DFA so wouldn't cost us anything and less than a year older than Soldo. Very keen for another opportunity. Numbers stack up, worth a punt if his body is right IMO

If Soldo becomes too expensive pick wise would we be better off going after Preuss as a Campbell replacement and backing in Heath to partner up with Marshall? I admittedly haven't seen a lot of Heath in the VFL.
