Not sure if this is looking to far into it but his brother is married to Danny Frawley daughter. Maybe that might be something that could help it out.
Ah, I have seen a few Brayshaws on seats in the DFC stand and I was wondering where the Saints connection was. I'd be doing cartwheels if we managed to land him.

We are the type of club to go after a spud like Josh Rotham to replace Battle...new fear discovered

(there's been no indication that we're interested in him, I just noticed he's OOC and would make some sense for us to pursue)

I have posted consistently over the past month that Max is playing hurt.

Trading a super talented key forward because he’s had a run of impact injuries is close to the dumbest thing I have read on here.

Hang on, comparing a 23 year old key forward with no history of soft tissue injuries to two blokes at the end of their career with calves of a 45 year old may just be a new podium leader.

But people (posters) suggest that would never happen under Lyon and the medical team. Ironical if continuing to play him lead to the actual PCL tear? Wake up and smell the roses people, Lyon had significant flaws back in 2009/2010 and they are still evident. Im not suggesting sacking him but someone needs to address these things with him. Misson is not going to do it, we all know he is Lyon's puppet and wouldnt have got the job hadnt it been for Ross wanting his own people around him.

I think we should raid the Swans and Giants this year. They have so much excess talent on their lists - Peatling, Stone, O'Halloran, Derksen, Ladhams, McAndrew, Konstanty - can argue all of these players would help bolster our list in some way.

Gold Coast also with Davies & Budarick

Misson confirmed in the presser that Max has been playing with a knee issue since the Giants game. End of story.

The Northern sides are good because fans don’t hold list management to any account. They can do cheap deals for clearing cap space without getting members upset. This is exactly the type of dealing we should look at. Gubby was meant to use his contacts inside GWS to steal all their talent. So far he’s been quite slow.

End of story because you said so or because we can categorically state that he he did the SAME KNEE whilst playing injured on it? There is no doubt our medical team are second to none and they are completely independant in their decisions nor are the influenced by the coaching group. Yet who employs and pays them to get players out on the track???

I wonder who the medical team answer to - Misson do you think?

Misson literally said that Max had damage since the GWS in the left knee, and on Sunday he further damaged the left knee. Sounds pretty categorical to me. Go watch the presser, everything you need is in there

You can play injured. Max effectively can play right now with a torn PCL. That’s the nature of the sport.

The important part here. Is that his injury wasn’t related to his prior injury. Max has a knee surgeon who advises him. The clubs medical stuff only advise on surface level injuries.

Anything with damage and potential outcomes involving surgery are left to external specialists.

You are a clown.

Mission has just completed a press conference and outlined how Max got injured. The calls Max made and the options offered.

It’s unlucky. It’s crap. But nothing to do with Ross.

Fair enough he elected to play on through the strain, but why given his form wouldnt you give him time to get his knee right? What player is going to say no I dont want to play, the club needs to be better and take that decision out of their hands. Again it smacks of desparation of a coaching group and we have seen it with Lyon the entire time he has been coaching.

To suggest that the knee surgeon stated that he wasnt at more risk of injury to an already unstable knee is absolute rubbish. Even after an ACL reco you have a much higher % of doing it again.

This kid is going to riddled with arthritis before he is 50 having knee and shoulder replacements. Surely the club needs to look at their long term healh rather than winning the next game.

You really think the coaching group is getting desperate when we've played Tom Campbell two weeks in a row and are now playing Caminiti at full back and gifting Clark games in the middle (I know some people still love Clark, but come on)

We chronically over achieved last year. Reckon at this point the coaches are just trying stuff out, trying to generate individual confidence going into the off season and also sniffing 2x top 5 picks

Wow thats working I have never seen so many players become so out of form running around in the same team. All Lyon is trying to do is WIN games at all costs and he is not doing a very good job at that.

I reckon we overacheved for half a season, the second half was pretty up and down.

Point is, it’s all a tease.
Managers use the Saints, who they know are desperate for good players to drive a hard bargain with their current team. I am 99% sure it was ever going to happen.
I mean De Goey leaving Collingwood? Was never going to happen.

We are the perfect club to use as a stooge. The only good thing, maybe, is that it pushes the salary cap of the other club a bit. But even that is doubtful. A smart club would have factored that in with a FA.

The only ones we get are the washed up ones like Hanners whose clubs are happy for them to go to free up a list spot.

It’s all pretty demoralising tbh. The fact that we actually have to even consider losing Battle to try and improve our draft haul is just nuts. Talk about a rock and a hard place.

Hope Bassat goes even harder at the boys club of the AFL . It should never have been able to go as long as it has with the inequities of the comp.

Not holding my breath. I agree with Joffaboy we’re just here to make up the numbers.
Not a free agent, but Liam Henry was pick 9 in the draft, 22 years old, a required player at Freo and here he is.

Imagine if we had signed Gresham and then the following year we went after Ainsworth. Gringo would be foaming at the mouth ready to rip list management apart for poorly using our cap space.

What I dont get is that Greshams best year was playing as a midfielder for us in 2022. He got played more up forward last year under Lyon and then decided to leave for Essendon who... plays him up forward. That move just never made much sense to me.

Change of topic.

Did anyone notice at Sundays game that Ben Brown was there with his wife and kid?

He came up on the big screen at half time.
Might be something to watch closely..

For what it’s worth I hope we stay away

He thought that Tom Campbell was his brother Campbell Brown, thats all.

He might be eyeing off Port. You would imagine that Dixon will finish this year.

Thing is, you know how this is going to end with Bassat and Lyon. Eventually the club will be forced to get rid of both and their replacements will be "strongly advised" to play the game and don't make trouble. The AFL will continue to serve their favourites and we'll be stuck in No-Man's Land, unable to improve and have to listen to imbeciles tell us the club is as incompetent as ever.

The House Always Wins.

No, F that. Fight on. Do not submit. Don't let The Man get you down. Believe. We shall overcome. I'm starting to understand now the relationship between a song like "When The Saints Come Marching In" and being a St Kilda fan. One day, they will not be laughing at us, it's happened before - I remember when they stopped laughing and had to pay us tribute, and it took one bloody schoolgirl and Michael Nettlefold to wreck it.

Whoever made the call doesn't seem to have got it right. We would have been better to book him in for a clean up or a break. He's been a liability since.

Are our medical staff any good? Are they are the same blokes that stuffed up guys like Roberton's ankle and failed to get Hanners and Freezer right. Remember we used to talk them up, but they haven't exactly had an outstanding history.

Greshams best seasons were his first two. He is terrible as a midfielder. Marvel's roof has dents in it from him kicking the ball into forward 50

We've changed all our medical staff this year haven't we? I don't see why you're bringing up decisions from 5 years ago.
