Hawks did that under Clarko too. They let Josh Kennedy go to Sydney even though he was from Hawks royalty.


We should be talking to Will Phillips and Brayden Campbell and seeing what they think about playing senior midfield. See if we can trade in Campbell and Parker on the cheap. A bit for now and a bit for later.

This week is probably the only week in the past two years that we have sat below Hawthorn on the ladder. If we beat WCE on the weekend we will probably jump back above the Hawks again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they had been all set to select Hall in this draft, only for us to drop below them for one solitary week and steal him from their grasp before resuming our normal spot above them on the ladder a few days later. It could be a small slice of good fortune that we’ve badly needed (if he’s any good!).

I like the small bits of footage they put up. He go gets his own ball which should mean he translates to AFL. He's no primped poodle, this kid looks like a meth dealers staffy. Bit of a Paul Kelly from Sydney back in the day mixed with Geary.

I love my battlers that make their own path. Think he's going to be a favourite already.

He's a buff unit. Body wise he's definitely a midfield type we are missing, if he can win his own ball in there he could get games this year for sure.

Brayden Campbell and Luke Parker in a combo deal would be massive.. just like the Schneider and Dempster deal. Get it done. Add in Will Phillips as depth or a 4th or 5th mid rotation.. our mid problem is solved in one off season

Played over 200 games for the Saints. Sure, injuries took their toll in the last couple of seasons, but was more than a serviceable player in quite often poor teams.

If you’re getting 200 games out of your mid season recruit then you’re laughing all the way to the bank.

Not a like for like comparison, Geary was never a mid unlike Hall. Hall might start high half forward, but there definitely could be midfield potential.

Yep, plenty of young mids not getting much game time. Need to target these players hard instead of hoping we land the big fish. Jack Steele is a prime example of the Saints using this strategy in the past.

Ward from the Hawks too. Get to him while he's playing regular VFL. Will Day, Worpedo and Newcombe have those inside roles tied up at the moment. They want him to play outside but he's ordinary when he's not a pure mid. He's going backwards there.
