2024 pre-season report card: Forwards
Assistant coach Jordan Russell analyses the forward group's progress this summer.www.carltonfc.com.au
I'd call Moir Carlos...
Perhaps Cerra has added so much speed in the pre season he kicked it to himself.
I know "game plan" is not a sexy term anymore, but we still have them... plan a, plan b, plan c. We just may not refer to them as such. If you train for various different "situations", you could label them Situation A, Situation B etc. It is a pre-planned change in the method/process/approach/game plan in response to something happening in the game. There really isn't a plan a and plan b game plan. There was a time when there was. Teams are big on situational training now. Clubs work hard on what they are trying to achieve and how they intend to do it and how they want to play. Structures, positioning, patterns etc.
They train for situations. Collingwood were massive on that, probably lead the way in this area the last two seasons. We probably won our finals because we were decent in this area. How you play, what you are trying to do in particular situations. Something we have grown over the years and I expect we will expand on next season.
Well for me personally, Hewett.Yes, most players in the side are different to each other like Cripps to Walsh to Cerra. Do you like Cunners tricks enough to leave out Hewett for example.
Michael Voss quizzed on the pre-season of five key Blues, names two summer standouts
“We were talking about the best pre-seasons yesterday actually and those two boys were right up there.”www.sen.com.au
Pretty certain Fantasia will play a significant role if his body is sound.Hewett and DC are not in competition.
Hewett can't play mid-fwd and DC isn't a full-time mid
Mid-fwd race is between
Elijah
DC
Martin
Motlop
Kennedy
Fog
Cotts
Orazio
Personally i'd leave the boys with soft tissue history out.
Elijah
DC
Kennedy
Motlop
Fog
Cotts
Pick 2 one starts HFF the other bench
Obviously these guys can play other roles as well
