Agree but all things being equal I'd take Bytel who's almost 10cm taller, given size is important for an inside mid.
Sullivan would have to have a substantial edge eg pace, or Bytel a major defciency, for the converse.
So keen to hear thoughts on relative strengths/weaknesses of each.
Bytel obv has a great tank, going by him winning the deep test for 1 - 4 years players, and has a good pedigree from juniors. But I'm more excited by Sullivan, purely based on his 30 possession avg in the VFL, 2nd League B&F, and the general consensus / comparative feedback on each player, from those that are closest to them:

Bytel: "good player... deserves another chance... possible upside"
Sullivan: "gun!"

WHE's gut running and ability to be where the ball is in the dying minutes of games surpasses whatever 'gun show' the lads prefer to see. He also rearely gets outmarked. He is still so underrated, it astounds me. There's been a bloody lot of 'skinny' footballers throughout the years that have been stars.

WHE was right there in the dying minutes of the GF, in fact was one of our last players to touch the ball before the siren. In such an extraordinarily tight and tense finish, Will was right in it.

And in the Prelim. And in the Qualifying. And in at least four other games throughout the Home & Away season!! Will's gut running to make sure that there is an outlet for others is amazing!

We kicked 18 points for the game - many with drop punts. Not sure why there's so much focus on one kick that missed by a foot.
It immediately reduced his chances of kicking a goal. If he had kicked a drop punt and missed I would be disappointed but not angry. Where do you draw the line? How about a snap over your head from 20 m? It was a dumb decision. The fact it missed by a foot only underlines my point. A drop punt would have easily cleared the line.

Surely we can move on from this now..🙄

And Ginni now wears #33 for another club.

Wade wrecked them until exhaustion as he likes to do on Fridays; which involves lots of running at the start and at the end of the session.
Like last week, they did some drills, involving ball movement, handballing drills in a small area of space, 1 v 1 contests and line group stuff. Some match play.

Maynard did some stuff on the ground, but mainly killed himself on the resistance bike, sweat pouring off him like water.

Ash Johnson got a knock, someone said to his face. But he left and went into the rooms and didn't return. Unsure what the issue is. Maybe it was a concussion test, or just precautionary. Maybe it was a eye poke. But we'll see next week.

Bobby Hill I thought dislocated his finger, but seemed he just jarred it, and got assistance from the medicalm staff, but he ended up alright.

Teakle did some ruck work with Cox, DC, Oscar and Beggy. But during match play he was forward. And kicked a couple goals while he was there. He looked much better than previous sessions.

It was Cox's first session back, and hadn't missed a beat. Did some running with some others at one point in the session though.
Jordy was back also, and he trained strongly.

Frampton played up forward and Richards down back. Two notable changes ive seen so far.

Sullivan got a cramp it appeared late in the session. Couple friends wondered it was a hammy, but they would know right away, but he just went to the bench for a rest. Probably just not used to the intensity of the training compared to his couple nights a week vfl training he would generally do.
I need to may more close attention as I get confused which number he is in, as he has changed from wed lol But think he did okay.

Final week od training next week.

Eyre was very impressive today. Hates losing and has some kind of marking hands.

Teakle surprised me. He was good today, kicked a few goals, took some marks, though did find himself with nobody on him. But did some 1v1 which he did well at too.
Hey Jen2310 what size is Eyre now. Ive only seen the vid of his draft year.

I've noticed WHE is often involved right at the end in our close games.

Which was only part of the reason why the club let him go. As Fly says, he sets players up to succeed. JG didn't take the chance and the club decided he wasn't worth the hassle. He won't change at the Hawks. Schultz is a massive upgrade.
It’s all quite bizarre from hawthorn - and their fans - imo. 4 year deal on v nice coin… PR’d more than any other player this off season, promoted that he’s getting a club legends number.

I feel they may be in for a rude awakening if they’re expecting our Jacky boy to be their great white hope…

Maybe it’s part of the coach’s ‘leniency’ towards slow, smart players… but I’m 99% certain he would’ve spent the majority of next season in the two’s, if he hadve remained a Collingwood player.

your subversive support of the hyphen has been noted in high places...

Anyone who follows footy knows Howe’s first few season at Melbourne were played predominantly forward. Checkers was regularly swung forward in his time at Werribee and Port. You can either choose to believe or check that, or not, IDGAF either way, doesn’t change the facts.
Yes I know Howe was played fwd.
But in your anger we’ve missed the whole point of the debate.
So go back and read the thread, and you’ll see it was a discussion on whether Howe and Brodie were playing in the same positions at other clubs as they do now.

I think you need a drink and a lie down.

Eyre was really good in the VFL this year. He definitely has some tools to work with, I was surprised the Bombers were so quick to delist him.

No idea how many are so adamant that they know the distance where Ginnivan becomes less accurate with a snap.

Didn’t Elliott have a shot from a similar distance, use a drop punt, and fail to make the distance? Reality is that players pick the kicking style they think gives them the best chance but none of them guarantee a goal.

I’m not interested in fact checking, when a simple request for evidence is so logical.

But I now look fwd to you “fact checking” every post you respond to.
You won’t know because I won’t announce that I’m doing it, just like every other time I do.

If you can’t be arsed fact checking yourself, why should anyone else be arsed going out of their way to provide links for you? They don’t owe you anything.
